Donna,

Did you get your progesterone checked out? I know you have been away but you were going to get back this Friday and I hope you have some good news to share with us.

Hi Poly,

I have an appointment tomorrow (June 9th), so I will hopefully know

more then. I did have more bloodwork done last Moday before I left

and the results were that my HCG had doubled since the week before,

however, my progesterone had dropped. I'm trying not to get my hopes

up at this point, because I just don't know if this pregnancy is

going to " stick " or not.

I have been told that the HCG levels are far more important than the

progesterone level, that some doctors aren't even that concerned with

the " P " level. Is that true??

Donna,

I'm so glad your HCG doubled. It is the number that is crucial. The

progesterone, as far as I know, is not indicative of the future of

the pregnancy, just that your body needs the progesterone to keep the

pregnancy going.

My progesterone rose and dropped (between 17 and 15). When it got

down to 15, they put me on supplements (this was after getting my 3rd

set of hcg #s).

Ask your doctor about the supplements when you go in. Some believe

they just " mask " miscarriage symptoms, others believe they work, and

others believe at least they don't hurt anything.

Donna,

I know that my RE doesn't care about the progesterone level after conception,

only the BHCG. I think there are many different thoughts on this. I hope this

pregnancy " sticks " !!!

Dear Donna,

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I must have been devestating for you, even if you did expect that result in your heart.

I am pleased that you are feeling relatively positive at the moment, but please dont try to be too strong. Although I am sure you are keen to look to the future, you must give yourself the chance to get over the here and now.

Re the d & c, I am sure that as long as you keep your ob well informed of your situation they will take all the care in the world. I wish I could say the right words to put your mind at rest.

Take the chance to relax a bit and wrap yourself up in cotton wool for a while.

I will be thinking of you.

Take care,

Hi Donna-

I'm so sorry to hear your news. I've had 3 miscarriages myself, and I know the pain that dreaded ultrasound can bring. You sound like you're doing well, but give yourself time to grieve, and if you feel sad, just let yourself.

I had a d & c after my last loss too, knowing I had AS before, and I felt confident in my Dr. (Dr. Isaacson) that he would do everything he could not to be excessive in the procedure, and I think he did a good job (I got my period 4 weeks after, and it was a normal one). Having the d & c so soon after your news will help you put it behind you, too, it's something I wish I had done.

My thoughts are with you, please keep us posted

Donna -

I'm really very sorry for your loss. I hope you continue to handle

it so well. I agree I'd be afraid of the D & C at this point, too. My

prayers will be with you.

Donna,

Sorry I am so late in responding. I just wanted to say how sorry I am to read that your baby did not make it. I hope your D & C was gentle today and that no scarring will be caused.

Please keep us informed of your outcome and especially let us know if you find out you do not have ashermans after all. Your name needs to be immediately removed from our profile list. You may like to let Ivana know that you got pregnant and lost this pregnancy so that if you do find out you have ashermans, at least your data is up to date. Her email is: marigagg@...
