Guest guest
Ok so Friday night we went to a restaurant down near my grandma that I had read an awsome review about on a celiac board. Well we explained that had Celiac and couldn't have gluten and ordered his pasta with the gluten free pasta. So they brought his out when they brought out the salads and he ate the whole plate (I would say close to 2 cups of cooked pasta) just starving and asked for 2nds... Now we're not going to starve him so my grandma took the plate up to the waitresses and asked if we could order him another meal with the GF pasta and alfredo. That was when they figured out that they had made a HUGE mistake. The waitress messed up and didn't write down the GF on the ticket and given him regular pasta! So the waitress came over and appologized and asked if he would be ok. Well NO, he wouldn't be! There was a big reason we asked for GF because he will get violently ill if he eats gluten. So we prepared him and explained that he had accedentally eaten wheat pasta and will get sick, but if he needed to throw up or go potty to let us know so we can get him to the bathroom. We expected it to hit in about an hour cause that had been his response in the past... It is now 2 days later and NOTHING! Not even 1 symptom!!! No tummy ache, no vomiting, no diarrhea. Nothing at all!!! Not even a bad mood! Ok so in my dreamworld I have always wondered if since the biopsy was inconclusive and only the blood (IgG) was positive on him that maybe he really doesn't have Celiac and it's just an intollerance and he could grow out of it with taking it out of his diet for a while, but he would be able to have gluten in smaller amounts in the future... Now after this I really am wondering if I could be right!!! We've been on such a strict GF diet for so long and he just ate 2 cups of wheat pasta and didn't even get a tummy ache from it! I'm going to ask the GI that we are taking the girls to if I could have him refered to her as well and possibly re-tested/scoped to find out if his inital diagnosis was wrong... Am I living in a very nice dream?
