Hi from in Texas - double BHR/DeSmet July 03 - doing GREAT at

10 months: noticed Rog's post on Vitamin E - respect Rog's expertise

so much but have to disagree with the " government " pronouncements on

dangers of vitamins, etc. Most 'governments' pronounce such

falacies, as do American Medical Assoc. etc. Without my 2 to 3,000

mg of Vitamin C, I wouldn't have been able to walk those last 4 or 5

years, with such severe double dysplasia - C is a tremendous anti-

inflamatory, among other things/ re: not taking E prior to surgery,

it MAY be that E can act like a blood thinner, so that may be ther

reason. (from www.healthwell.com - superb site) " Although vitamin E

is thought to act like a blood thinner, very little research has

supported this idea. In fact, a double-blind trial found that very

high amounts of vitamin E do not increase the effects of the

powerful blood-thinning drug warfarin.4 Nonetheless, a double-blind

study of smokers found the combination of aspirin plus 50 IU per day

of vitamin E led to a statistically significant increase in bleeding

gums compared with taking aspirin alone (affecting one person in

three versus one in four with just aspirin).5 The authors concluded

that vitamin E might, especially if combined with aspirin, increase

the risk of bleedings. "

Sincerely,

Hi

You put it in a very polite way about the site referrals and published data. I

wish I'd never sent it but you can't turn back the clock. I know a friend of a

friend who has a back problem and he only came to mind whilst reading your email

- from memory he takes a high dosage. He takes cod liver oil and vitamin C

supplements. He has a senior post at a hospital laboratory and advocates their

use.

I hope I haven't caused anyone any distress and openly apologise if I have done.

It was not intended.
