Guest guest
Hi Hippies... I think it was september since I last posted. Old timers may rememeber that I had a c+ by Dr. S at JRI in Jan. 02. At twelve weeks I began surfing again, and left my home in Maui May 15th for an around the world surf trip. I just left the Maldives and am headed to Fiji. In a nut shell, I can surf 3x day, and while I may not be what I was at my peak of surfing in Hawaii up say a year before the degeneration of my skills due to arthritis, I am still doing better than a good percentage of none hippy wave riders (ocean surfers!). This hip made to over 18,000 feet in the Andes of Peru at 8 months post op, and I've been surfing all matter of surf from mellow to challenging. Just thought I would put a little positive info out for anyone facing the unknown future. I am grateful to have had this procedure and am fortunate to be where I am now physically and mentally. I will be back home in July ending some 14 months abroad at which time I will be more available to share with those that request personal feedback from someone post op. I did my one year check up with Dr. Ian Woodgate in Sydney and was pleased with my meeting with him, forwarding data to JRI. Hope it only gets better, still got to work on the stretching, but I am stoked! Aloha Dan
