Great news Dari What wonderful words to hear!

I too bought my wig today. My daughter went with me and we took a camera and made a fun day of it. Took pictures in some of the worse wigs on earth.... Both of us for fun. I wound up with a great one that really looks great and much like my hair about 5 years ago before I started to grey. I decided to heck with the grey, I am staying young as long as I can! Lol

The lady at the wig store said if I will turn my receipt in that my insurance company would reimburse me for it... Anyone know that to be a fact? There were tons of cheaper wigs but the one that looked best was nearly $200.00. I'm worth it!!! Lol So glad my hubby agreed when I got home with it.

This is the 3rd good day I've had since starting chemo on December 15th, 2005.I have some days where I have a couple of hours here or there with minimal side effects. But, only three days I've really felt good for the majority of the day. One of the major things that has put a damper on feeling well in heartburn and indigestion. I had 4 operations in five weeks and I think the general anesthetic or being intibated started the problem but it is sooooo miserable feeling. and vomiting makes it feel worse.I never knew "indigestion/heartburn/whatever could be so nasty of a problem.Anyway, I hoping for a good day tomorrow. We meet with Children's services tomorrow to talk about the termination of parental rights and the adoption process.I had to haul buns and get a wig today...I had to SETTLE for one on such short notice.I did have really long almost black hair and the wig is short and light brown. (bluk)I look like my sister (mother#2 issues) LOL I have not informed anyone in the system of my medical condition/bc or otherwise. For the past year we have gotten excellent reviews and I'm uncertain what they will do about me having bc. So, I thought I better go get some hair. :-) I lost my eyebrows and some of my eyelashes so i bought an eyeliner to draw some brows on. geeeez, I hope it doesn't look like a wig. It's such a staunch change from what I use to look like.ok...I'll be quiet. I'm feeling the ramble coming on. Seems like late at night my brain gets busier and busier with all the crap.hugs evryone. Hope you're feeling as good as possible.Dari fastest2@...

HUGS Dari, I hope the meeting goes well.

As for side effects, talk to your Onc about things, foods, that might minimize the effects. I don't have much time this morning but later, if you remind me, I can tell you what I've done. One thing, buy some ginger tea and pickled ginger, it really helps a lot of people with nausea.

Myself, I've had 1 bad week out of each 3, and not really a full week, more like 3 to 5 days, this week having been the worst with pain. Other than that I've been a little fatigued the rest of the time but mostly up and around.

I bought a wig at a farmers market in Delaware and my hair dresser met me there on a Saturday...She helped me pick out a wig that was close to my own hair color and style...It was $100.00 and I turned in the receipts to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Delaware and no response...I paid for my own wig which I wore for almost a year because I was working at the time...
