Tonights dinner is gonna be cheeseburgers prepared on the grill, a few sauteed mushrooms and a nice biiiiiig salad with bleu cheese dressing! Just 'fries' me to think i know whats right but yet i eat those 'no-no' foods anyway....i've gotta determine with 100% of me that i want to and WILL lose this excess baggage! Sherry, I think you need to follow my one meal and snack at a time policy. Just because you already blew it today, doesn't mean you should wait until tomorrow to start. First, let me say that I would probably think and do the same thing. BUT, just don't make the mistake of saying since you have blown it today, you might as well " enjoy " eating the rest of today because tomorrow you have to start over. Start making better choices with your next meal or snack. If you give yourself permission to eat xxx the rest of today, you are only allowing the cravings to get more firmly planted. Guest guest Posted May 22, 2001 Report Share Posted May 22, 2001 Sadly, Sherry, I learned the hard way that I needed to challenge myself one meal or snack at a time. All too often I would blow one meal and then tell myself that I had blown the entire day, after which I proceeded to blow the entire day in a really big way. So now, I try to look at each meal or snack as a chance to make great choices. When I blow it, I give myself a hearty kick in the pants (yes, now that I have lost this weight I am a contortionist) and try to do better the very next time I eat something. I have seen you restart several times, vowing to do better, and I have been where you are. In fact, I think I still qualify for being there. So I know where you are coming from. Kim P and I are temporarily AWOL from the naughty corner. When we return, and darn it, we will, I hope you aren't there to welcome us. But if you are, we will understand all too well. I have heard people talk about starting their day over as many times a day as needed, but boy is it hard to do. However, I know that really is the key to success. My tomorrow's used to start on Monday's, and sometimes nexxxt week and I guess they still would, if it was not for the help I have received. We are really lucky to be in the company of others who so willing to help. /mike/ >> Mike, You are ohhh so right! I reread your note a few times and really let it sink in....it is hard to stay on track (IMHO) for all my waking hours, with every bite i take, i've got to constantly remind myself " what do i want worse....that ice cream cone or to be a lb or 2 lighter " ....if i would consciously ask myself that when tempted, i'd be much better for it! We certainly are in good company...the few lbs i've lost has been a true testament to the encouragement and help i've gotten along the way from this dear family (all 700+ of you!!!!) Soooooooo, here i am again....i'm gonna start from scratch here...i'm going iwth my current weight and starting TOMORROW....why tomorrow you ask...cuz i've blown it today...i won't mention the no-no foods i ate the last few days, but with a 1 lb gain and knowing better, with every bite i took i knew i shouldn't have been eating it....sooooooo with dinner tonight, and back on track AGAIN....tomorrow is back to induction for me!!!!
