No, never had that problem, but a lot of things I used to like started

tasting funny or off a bit once I got close to needing dialysis.

Taste Buds are Off - Salt

> Just wondering if anyone has a problem with things tasting too salty.

Within the last 4 or 5 days, it seems that everything I eat tastes so salty,

even a piece of french bread! Believe me I'm not adding any salt...has

anyone experienced this and is it related to IgA in anyway? Thanks, Rita

Just to expand a bit on my own reply, there are times when I will not have

eaten anything with salt, and when I add what before would have been a

normal amount of table salt, it tastes too salty. This is a normal

adaptation of the taste buds to a lesser sodium diet. Most of the time

though, I actually crave salty foods like chips or popcorn, and even those

don't taste salty enough.

I think I have the opposite problem with things tasting like they need salt.

Good thing I have self discipline :-)

Last night I made a salad and the extra virgin olive oil tasted bitter to

me...my husband said it was fine. Tonight I made a side dish of stuffing and

that too tasted bitter. It's very strange. I don't recall ever having a

problem like this. I've sort of lost my appetite because of it! Rita
