Pam,

It is so good to hear from you. You sound completely in love, and

little Belle sounds great. Enjoy this time, it is completely

exhausting with all the visitors and getting the hang of

breastfeeding though. Try and rest as much as possible, you really

need it and you will feel so much better. Having the baby sleep on

your chest is the best, Christian still sleeps that way with me after

his last feeding in the middle of the night. It feels so good and is

great for bonding.

I totally agree on the resting. You forget at first because even

though you are tired your adernaline(sp?) is pumping.

We were wondering if its okay to have the baby sleep on our chest

since its sleeping on its tummy. But I think its only unattended that

they can't sleep on their tummys right?

Pam,

I was worried about the same thing, but ped said it was fine. It is

only unattended that you have to worry about. I love the feeling of

their little chest going up and down on yours, it is so nice. And

Christian sleeps on his side or back when he is in the cradle on his

own with no problem.

Pam, Congratulations!! You sound so happy!! I'm glad you were able to get what you tried so long for!!! Amy 35w 5d Hi Hi AllI wanted to pop in and let you know how we are doing. Everything went really well. I just can't believe Belle is here. I am going to have Steve help me scan some pics this morning. We are both totally exhausted. We came home late yesterday afternoon. We are still trying to get the breastfeeding thing down. She did great the first few days but now that my milk is coming in its gotten much more difficult. We are going to meet w/the lactation specialist tomorrow. We also meet w/the peds tomorrow since we are using a different one than the hospital. We are pretty beat from visitors so we are now going to try and keep it to a minimum. Steve is already such a great dad. I knew he would be. We have been having the baby sleep on our chest. Neither of us want to put her down. We had her stay in our room the whole time in the hospital. We had friends that said to let them take her for a couple of hours but we just couldn't do it. Its so fun getting all these pink clothes. It was an amazing feeling waiting for them to pull the baby out and knowing within seconds I would finally find out if I had a little daughter and son. Thank you all for being here for me and for all the congrats for little Belle. This has been the most amazing experience. We just love her so much. It was totally worth the wait.Love, Pam

Oh... your post gave me goosebumps! I know just how you feel Sweetie. Enjoy her, spoil her rotten, never put her down! These days go by so fast, so make the most of them.

My advice for the breastfeeding is to just keep her on your breast as much as possible over the next few days. It will help get you through the hardest part, which is now. If you can make it through the next 3-4 days, you've got it made Sweetie!

Pam, I am so happy for you and Steve!! I am glad all went well and you are back home. It is hard to believe the wait is over with. I am sure you both are absolutely wonderful parents. I hope the lactation specialist helps out and the breastfeeding part gets easier for you. I imagine it was pretty amazing when the said, "It's a girl!" The joy has only just begun sweetie - enjoy every minute. I slept with Tessa for the first three months, so I know what you mean about not wanting to put her down.

Belle lives up to her name! She is a beauty. You and Steve look so happy. Congratulations again.

Hi Vikrant~ I was suffering from AVN (stage 3)of my left hip, found

in an MRI Sept 2001. I had the resurfacing surgery done July 11th

2002. I am back serving at an upscale restaurant now 2 nights a week

and life couldn't be better.

Been swimming in our neighborhood pool a couple of times. Feels

wonderful to be weightless and moving around! Walked my mile + again

today with the cane. I wander around the house unassisted, but

walking over a mile unassisted right now is out of the question.

Don't want to get things aggravated. No rush.

What chemotherapy do they want to do?

The most common now are 5FU Leucovorin with one or more of the following

Oxilaplatin, Avastin, or Erbitux.

I was diagnosed at Stage 4 in December of 2003, with mets to the

liver and lungs. After a year of chemo I'm still here and doing

great!

Don't belive the statistics -- they're old and don't apply to us.

With good medical care, we'll both live to a ripe, old age.

Fluid build-up and draining on a regular weekly basis

11/09/04 on 5FU/Leu/Oxaliplatin/Avastin " cocktails " 46 hr. infusions
