Is drinking juice with an iron pill sufficient? I

thought I had to have some food in me to protect my

stomach lining. Also, the iron I am taking has 300 mg.

of vitamin C in it and it is sustained released, so I

keep thinking I can't eat any of those foods at all if

I want the iron to absorb. I am still baffled as to

what I CAN eat.

I don't follow any hard and fast rules about taking my iron. I simply

don't take it on an empty stomach as that makes me queasy. Taking 3 Slow

FEs per day for a month raised my hemoglobin from 7.7 to 12.2. It seems to

me that eating the right things with iron will maximize its absorption, but

just taking the iron will help you no matter what.
