Guest guest
Ms. Darlin, Don't apologize -- you should be frustrated and cranky! Translate this into the energy to remain, as Gigi says, persistent. After reading Fran Drescher's book about her battle through 8 doctors to find someone who would listen to her before she was finally diagnosed with uterine cancer, I have become quite paranoid about my health. Most of the time, the docs are probably right for most things, but I believe that when it comes to " women's issues " , many doctors -- both male and female -- marginalize us by ignoring our concerns, assuming that we should just " put up with " symptoms, and when things get to a crucial point, leave us with no choice but to go to the most drastic of measures. It's imperative that we be persistent and be downright difficult patients if that's what it takes to get proper treatment. I'd like to encourage you to do what you think is appropriate -- and MORE -- to seek and receive effective treatment. It may just be fibroids, but given your family history, I'd think that cancer should be ruled out before settling on " simple " fibroids as a diagnosis. Just my two cents, Kisha Great respect > First, forgive me for ranting earlier.....Quite simply, I do > not want to die. And knowing that, if nothing else, it IS a possibilty > that I COULD have something like ovarian cancer, a simple CAT Scan > could either confirm or rule it out. That's all. And if I sound > cranky, I apologise. I am just so very tired of feeling sick and > terribly uncomfortable all of the time. > > > >
