Fruit eatin' trick for all the fruit eatin' cheaters out there:

Buy individually frozen berries (I get a mix of strawberries, raspberries,

blueberries, and blackberries). Mix up 1/2 cup whipping cream, a little AS,

dash of vanilla if desired. Stir 1/2 cup of the fruit into the sweetened

cream. Stir until the cream freezes on the berries. Chop it up with your

spoon a little. Instant fruit ice cream.

I ate two apricots off the tree while I was mowing the lawn this

evening. They were good.

There are two of us in that minority group, Kathy. Once a year or so I'll

get a craving for a banana or an apple but otherwise I don't have any

interest in fruits.

I am so VERY glad that it's not just me. I was almost afraid to admit that I

didn't like fruit. LOL I do like the *flavor* of some fruits but not the

fruit themselves. I buy the Diet Iced Botanicals and get that fruit flavor and

that will suffuce! :)

I'll chime in here as well :-) While I don't *dislike* fruit, I am allergic

to so many fruits that I just don't eat them. I can't eat oranges, bananas,

melons, grapes, cherries, etc etc etc. In fact, the few that I can eat are

strawberries and nectarines (but can't eat a peach nor a plum... go figure).

It always looks so yummy when I see sliced up fresh fruit but even the

scents will trigger allergic reactions <sigh>. Growing up people used to

think I was just making it up, that I couldn't eat them, maybe because I

didn't *like* them... strange what people think.

I've never thought of myself as allergic to fruits, most of them I just

don't like. However, I do have a problem with fresh citrus fruits making my

mouth sore. I suppose that could be an allergy.

I'm not sure what it is about the fruits themselves that bothers me. The

thought of eating a grape makes me ill but I love grape juice and grape

flavored stuff. I like cherry flavor but won't touch cherries (except the

maraschino kind). The only fruits I will actually eat are strawberries and

watermelon plus one banana or apple a year.

Wanda (who doesn't like veggies either)

Wanda,

How much fresh fruits and veggies can a person have

on this diet? My daughter and I are starting this

diet tomorrow. We need all the help we can get.

Hmmm... not sure if the fresh citrus fruits making your mouth " sore " is an

allergic reaction. For me, I break out in hives, my throat gets terribly

itchy, my tongue swells and breathing is very difficult. With that type of

reaction, well, guess it just makes sense that I don't eat fruit! LoL

I get canker sores from citus. I do think soreness could be a food

intolerence or allergy.

Uh, yeah, Marlena, don't eat the fruit! I get hives from a few other things

I'm allergic to and they're no fun at all. I think the sore tongue is from

the acid. I get it with aged meats and cheeses and from walnuts in addition

to the fresh citrus and tomatoes.

Beth,

At the very least it's gotta be an intolerance. I put it in my mouth and my

mouth hurts. It feels like I've been chewing on knives. Strangely, my mom

can eat fresh citrus but has an allergic reaction (hives) to any beverage

with citric acid in it. She also gets hives from gluten while I just get

very groggy.
