Guest guest
Way to go Amy!!! Congratulations on your success thus far. If you add in the treadmill on days you don't go to curves, you will certainly have even more energy and those inches will continue to fall off of you :-) I know I always feel better when I exercise too. Keep up the great work there Amy! Guest guest
Rita you are so right. A year ago I was trying desperately to get into my neph for my first appointment earlier than they wanted to schedule me. It took my doctor calling them and saying " I think we have an aggressive case " for them to get me in fast. Sept 30th will be my official " one year on pred " date. It's hard to believe it will be a year already and seeing how far we have both come emotionally and physically is incredible. A year ago I could hardly stay awake all day, my extremities were freezing all the time, I was an emotional wreck due to toxin build up (then an emotional wreck due to the prednisone!), and I was constantly dropping things with my right hand or wiping out due to my right foot giving way. Today I'm much more stable emotionally and now my physical self is getting there too. I'm hoping by next Sept I will be one of those very healthy looking sick people. Ya know the ones.....great body, sucky kidneys. ) You keep up on the treadmill, it's great that you have been getting on nightly now. My biggest fault is, due to my labs being good, colas were ok'ed for me again...I sort of went nuts drinking Coke again and now have to re-wean myself off the stuff or I'll never drop the weight I need to. I can truly understand how once transplanted you can gain weight by eating the stuff you couldn't while in renal failure! As always thanks for the support everyone! Amy Re: The results are in... Amy - great news! I've recently started getting on my treadmill every night instead of just 3 or 4 times per week. I'm actually at the point where I look forward to it - it just eases tension for me and I'm sleeping much better at night. I definitely have more energy too! Thinking back to last year about this time - where we were and where we are now - it feels like a new lease on life, doesn't it? I'm hoping we can both hold on as long as long as possible. Guest guest
Congrats Amy, that's great progress! I totally agree with you, I'm a big fan of staying active, and it does amazingly help with the energy levels! I am so glad that you are feeling much better. : ) On a side note, I also asked my neph - just to make sure - at my last appt if it was ok to do Pilates, and he was all for it too. I honestly have to drag myself out of bed and to the gym but I feel 100% better the rest of the day, I don't have to take naps the days I work out. Now I'm thinking of starting to walk on my treadmill the days I don't go to Curves and see if that will keep my energy levels up on my non-Curves days. My neph is fully supportive of both Curves and the treadmill and is happy to hear I'm keeping up with it. ) > > Still kickin' just not as high, > Amy > > >
