Guest guest Posted November 10, 2003 Report Share Posted November 10, 2003 Way to go, April!!!!! Lyn April's Weigh In & 5th Week Update I weighed in Saturday morning and I was down 2.25!!! I was estatic after I had such a large loss last week, too. I'm now a little over five pounds from my WW goal weight! I'm going to really bust my bottom and try too get there by the end of November/first of December. My husband, who doesn't do WW with me, but has lost about 20 pounds just by virtue of me eating heathier and providing him less " bad " options for snacks and dinners, told me he was proud of me. He says he can tell that I've really " recommitted " myself over the past two months and he knows I'll make it to goal. He said he was going to commit himself to eating healthier, too (during the day when he eats on his own). By the way, here's my week five update since I've been keeping the 12- week journal (I've posted previous weeks earlier): Week 5: Total Points: 203 (WOW!! Most I've ever been able to eat in one week) Activity Points: 29 Flex Points: 35 (14 of which were eaten before weigh in on Saturday morning--I " rewarded " myself Saturday by eating my maximum allowed and still staying on program!) Question for the group: April talks about " rewarding herself " for her progress by " eating her maximum allowed points and still staying OP " ). I can't decide whether this is destructive (still tying " eating " and " rewarding oneself " together as we all used to do before WW) or constructive (the reward wasn't a super-size value meal). Whadya all think? > > Mitch Interesting point, Mitch. I never really thought of it as destructive, but in a way, I guess you could see it as still thinking of food as a reward. I don't necessarily think of it that way, though. To me, having most of my flex points left for Saturday is the reward because (although I still journal religiously that day) I have so many points I don't have to really think about food much. I sort of get to eat what I want (within reason) and I always have plenty of points for it. I don't wake up (like other days) and plan every meal and every snack, I just let the day go by and see what happens. That feels like a reward for myself because of that. It's like I get a breather from being so strict with myself. Many weeks, I don't even eat all of the flex points I have for that day. I too, find, that if I have plenty of flex points left at the end of my week, I tend not to eat many of them ..... I guess part of it is because Friday is the end of my week and my weigh-in is Saturday morning -- but part of it is because psychologically, I don't want to " take away " from a really good week.
