Guest guest
Tonight we had such a good dinner. I marinated pork chops in tamari for about 4 hours, made mashed cauliflower with butter, sour cream & Greek Seasoning, romain lettuce with blue cheese dressing and a few sliced strawberries. It was such a lovely meal for all of us. Just had to share with all of you! Does anyone know what Tamari's carb count is? (For those of you who haven't tried it yet, tamari is like soy sauce but milder. Liquid. Dark brown.) I use it for a lot of things. Including broccoli slaw --- just buy the packaged slivered broccoli, add mayo and a healthy squirt of tamari. Yum! Some ideas and a question. Happy evening to you all! Guest guest
Jane, that sounds so good. We had meat loaf, baked potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and fresh asparagus. Needless to say, I passed on the potatoes! Guest guest
Good for you. Don't take yourself for granted --- passing on the baked potatoes is a good thing and (if you ask me) ) you should give yourself credit! Your menu sounds satisfying too. Fresh asparagus is really a sign of spring, isn't it? J Jane, that sounds so good. We had meat loaf, baked potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and fresh asparagus. Needless to say, I passed on the potatoes! Guest guest
Jane, That sounded scrumptious! I also grilled pork chops last night. Marinated them in Italian Dressing and they were not dry for a change )) I maade a stirfry from Green & Red Peppers, Onion, Mushrooms and broccoli, sauted in olive oil and seasoned with garlic and chinese five spice. My kids go NUTS over this dish. NO Leftovers :-(( I will look for tamari. Another favorite at my house is celery sauted in butter 2 - 4 minutes, add soy sauce and cook an additional 2 - 4 minutes -- just a trace of carbs and so easy and good! I never thought of making brocolli slaw ! Is the carb count lower than cabbage? Di

Guest guest
Sometimes it is in the spice section or check where they have the "Chinese" stuff -- like soy sauce, hoisen sauce and such. USE sparingly, until you decide how much you like it!! I love it. I took a chinese cooking class years ago and that was the key flavoring in Pepper steak. Guest guest
There are several brands, but you can find it both in the spice section of the grocery store and in the oriental section.
