Guest guest
Hello, I feel worse when I gain weight! BUT, it seems SO difficult to lose it now. I know that bloating plays a big part in that, but I think that maybe we just don't move as much as we do when we feel good. But YES, I do think that weight might make things worse. Guest guest
Too All, (not sure how I start a new topic here without replying to someone, so will reply to one of my own). Anyway, is a OB/GYN the best person to remove a uterus or do myomectomy? Seems like most of their biz is delivering babies. Would a surgeon who has performed a lot of these procedures, be a better choice? Have all of you had your GYN do your surgeries? Thanks, Deb
Guest guest
My gyn did mine, but she has a lot of experience and has a weekly surgery schedule as many do. Check to see if this is a specialty for yours or not or if she can make a recommendation. jan kaulins wrote:Too All, (not sure how I start a new topic here without replying to someone, so will reply to one of my own). Guest guest
Hi Pam, Let's put it this way, don't anyone ask me to touch my knee to my chin, because there's too much in-between! I can definately relate. Alma Lynn Weight Dear Group, I am wondering if anyone's dr. told them that the pressure/pain you experience due to your fibroid would be reduced if you lost weight. I am significantly overweight and my ob/gyn told me this. When I am in a sitting osition, I feel a lot more pain and pressure than when I am wither standing or reclining. Anyone else experience this as well? As a re-cap.. I have a 7.6 by 7 cm intramural fibroid. Pam
Guest guest
Pam: My doctor told me that symptoms experienced due to fibroids are generally lessened with weight loss. Also, the attending staff who performed my pelvic ultrasound prior to my most recent myo (during my Lupron treatments) commented that my fibroids were deteriorating in the same manner she had seen in menopausal women and women who had lost large amounts of weight. Hope this is helpful. Joyce Weight Dear Group, I am wondering if anyone's dr. told them that the pressure/pain you experience due to your fibroid would be reduced if you lost weight. Guest guest
I have gained 30 lbs in 3yrs. Like Flora, the only things that fit are my gowns & robes!! I do find that since I'm so inactive that I snack alot! I have never eaten many sweets. Now, it seems like that's all I want. So, Maggie, you're not alone. Guest guest
Or it could be fluids. The body seems to hold on to fluids post op. I only gained 23 pounds when I was pregnant but after my C section I was so swollen and full of fluids I looked 50 pounds heavier than I did in my 9th month. I was full of post op fluids and bloating. LICS June "The best protection any woman can have...is courage." When I went into pre op my weight was 185. when I went into have biopsy removed, I was 195. Any ideas if this could be linked to adenosis, which is a glandular thingy. anna bennett wrote: I gained alot of weight also I was 130 before chemo and I'm at 185lbs now. The Dr's doing thyroid test next week to see if the chemo did any damage. I'm excerising, drinking water and really watching what I'm eating but I keep gaining. I'm also having surgery to have a lump taken out of the side of my neck next week, in between all the 3 month testing for cancer spreading. as days go by, and friends we make, our lives can only be blessed with those that come in and out of ones life.
