Guest guest
I was in Burger King yesterday, and they have the nutrition information for each item, including sauces, posted in a huge poster on the wall. It would be nice to see everyone do that. _____ From: willow Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 9:43 AM To: SWW-100 ; Serious-Weight-Watchers Subject: Support this Bill!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Yes, the fast food chains all seem to do this, and have done so for quite some time. I'm hoping the " big guns " will jump on the bandwagon! Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Perkins, etc. Lyn RE: Support this Bill!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
When I called Outback about Nutritional Information, I was told that they did not have it for the dishes because they were all prepared at each restuarant and one cook may make it a little different than the other. With fast food places, all the ingredients are frozen or whatever and they are all made the same way throughout. The " better " restaurants have guidelines but rather than give incorrect information, they just don't give it. You can request that a dish be made to your specifics then you would know the points. I have went as far as the ask thay the kitchen weight 4 oz of meat and box the rest up before they even bring it out, they always do and that kitchen staff gets an extra tip. It never hurts to ask. Guest guest
At the risk of drawing some serious fire from those on the other side of the aisle, I'll just say that looks like the Democrats are finally doing something right!!!! Guest guest
A lot of chains have the info on their websites. Yeah, kind of inconvenient if you're not planning on going somewhere. But if you CAN plan ahead, you can really take your time and make a wise decision. Guest guest
I've seen it in many of the Carl's Jr.'s (it's the same thing as Hardee's for you Non-Cali folks) as well. A lot of them have the pocket menus as well. Liz wrote: I was in Burger King yesterday, and they have the nutrition information for each item, including sauces, posted in a huge poster on the wall. Guest guest
The thing we need to remember about this bill is that it is not just for fast food....it's for national chains, restaurants with over 20 outlets!!! I know most fast food joints do provide nut. info..but who wants to eat fast food all the time....or any time, for that matter. lol Lyn RE: Support this Bill!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
OK. I apologize to anyone who was offended - just going for a little levity. Guest guest
Although that could be true to some degree it seems to me that the " Bloomin Onion " will be prepared the same way in Denver as it is in Miami. I think this would be true for all of their dishes. Most national chains have very strict portion control and preparation methods. I thinks it would be fairly easy for most of these " higher end " restaurants to provide fairly accurate nutritional info. There could be variations in say the fat content of their steaks from one area to the next based on a local supplier. Charlie Re: Support this Bill!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
This is interesting. I was listening to the Rush L. show the other day (No comments please, I was tired and it was keeping me awake while driving! LOL) and they were talking about this legislation and the host was saying " why on earth does anyone need to know the nutrional analsis of the food they eat? " Let me tell you I was dialing my cell phone as fast I could trying to get through and say " well all of us on WW would love to know how many points are in the foods we enjoy while dining out. " But I only got a busy signal! I was like jumping up and down in my car yelling at the radio! lol...... Moe 234/210/
Guest guest
It amazes me when I hear something like this. I bet I could make you a 15 point hamburger and a 5 point hamburger and the average person would have trouble telling the differnce. Charlie Re: Support this Bill!!!!!!!!!!!! This is interesting. Guest guest
Tory, I concur. Politics can be a very divisive subject, and it seems that these days they're even more so than they once were. > > > There is a bill sponsored by Congresswoman L.
