Guest guest
Hi I just got back from the doctors. I had my staples out. I still have to wear the immobilizer for another 4-6 weeks, but can take it off to shower (yaaaaah) and straighten the elbow. I can't drive except in an emergency. I think I will back down the driveway a couple times a week to get the mail. I go back in two weeks. laurie
Guest guest
Boy Laurie. It's a very slow process, isn't it? I'm hope the 4 - 6 weeks go by comfortably and quickly. I know how much you appreciate taking a shower. You can't take a shower for 10 days after CI surgery and boy to you appreciate it when you can. Now...for you... I know that not being allowed to drive is the worst thing of all. How are you managing? Alice --- Laureta Fitzgerald wrote: > Hi > > I just got back from the doctors. I had my staples > out. Guest guest
Laurie, I am glad you are improving, although I know it is slow. Not being able to drive must really be hard on you, but it sounds like you have a great support network! Smiles, a

Guest guest
Adrienne The shoulder pain is gone except for touching the incision area. This is great in my book for only two weeks. It really does hurt to range the elbow and wrist. but this will get better in time. Thanks to you and everyone else for keeping in their thoughts. laurie From: moonchild62579@... Guest guest
Laurie, I'm glad you are showing improvement and quite frankly relieved that he does not want you to go back to work until next fall. I was concerned about more injury also. Now you have plenty of time to heal and don't have to worry about the responsibilities of school. I can tell that there are mixed feelings about this but I think it's the best thing for you. Hugs! Guest guest
Laurie, I am glad that your shoulder is improving and that you are going to be able to do a little more with it. Don't overdo though! I am sorry that the doctor doesn't want you to go back to work this year. I know this is a very hard thing for you. Hopefully though, with the extra rest and PT help, you will be able to be there next year like you want to. I am thinking of you!
