Guest guest
I called BK today b/c I do not feel like I can take my child safely to McD and BK's grilled chicken is GF according to their nutritional information and ingredient list. I called national and then local. The local manager (at the Valley Ave store, in case someone else is in Winchester, VA) has a child w/ food allergies which is helpful b/c she knows about cross contamination issues and the needs of a child like mine. She told me she would not suggest I feed my son French Fries from them. She said accidents happen here all the time. The French Fry Frier is right next to the onion ring etc Frier. She explained that when they dump onion rings in, often some spill over or French Fries spill over to the other Frier. Hearing this from a manager and a manager w/ a child w/ food allergies was very useful. I can't rely on BK locally either. One good thing came out of all this, I was forced to investigate further local fast food options myself and come up with a solution for our family... Chick-fil-a is local and it has grilled chicken GF and fries (although he doesn't really like them, maybe he'll learn). And Chick-fil-a has a play place, so it is always a hit with my kids. It cost a little bit more, but since Mc D is out we won't be spending extra money there for a quick snack to get my kids through a shopping trip Rejoyce Winchester, VA
