Guest guest
Hi I have a question regarding green tea. What is the best brand to buy. I have myself totally confused. I have been using either Lipton of Celestial Seasonings green tea. I have been browsing through the book How to Prevent & Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine by Dr. Murray which has been endorsed by the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. They recommend green tea extract as your " tissue- specific " flavonoid if you have a personal or family history of cancer and are available in capsules or tablets. Has anyone heard of this? Thanks Lynn
Guest guest
If you enjoy the flavor of green tea,go ahead and drink it, the brand is irrelevant.(if caffeine matters to you,do check the label because some do contain caffeine)It won't hurt you but neither will it cure or prevent disease.Personally, I enjoy drinking tea and keep a good supply of many different types depending on the mood I'm in.I find the act of 'taking tea'very relaxing, which is probably it's greatest benefit. So brew a pot of your favorite, pour it into a beautiful china cup,put on some soft music and lose yourself in the moment. Check out www.quackwatch.com lest you get taken in by false claims. Take care! H. > > Hi > I have a question regarding green tea. What is the best brand to > buy. I have myself totally confused. Guest guest
In response to 's post, many alternative practitioners recommend green tea, and I think you will even find it on the Sloan-Kettering index of alternative remedies that are being studied. So, while I don't believe there is proof that green tea can cure cancer, I don't think it falls in the " quackwatch " category either, both because it has been proven as an anti-oxidant, and also because I don't think drinking it will hurt you (either physically or financially). In any event, in response to your question, it's probably best to drink organic green tea if you can get it. There are several nice brands, such as Yogi and Tazo plus many others. > > Hi > I have a question regarding green tea. What is the best brand to > buy. I have myself totally confused. Guest guest
Thanks for the response on the green tea. I also don't think it is a miracle cure, but I agree that it has been proven to be an anti- oxidant. Just looking for a little hope in preventing recurrence.I will look into the organic brands. Thanks again. Lynn > > > > Hi > > I have a question regarding green tea. What is the best brand to > > buy. I have myself totally confused. Guest guest
I'm hoping for the same thing. I figure the more of the " not sure if it will work, may help but shouldn't hurt in any event " type things I can do, the better...included are green tea, certain vitamin/mineral supplements (calcium, selenium, folic acid, vitamin e, etc.), lots of tomatoes and brocolli, red grapes (try to eat only organic produce) etc. Good luck to you. > > > > > > Hi > > > I have a question regarding green tea. Guest guest
Green Tea? Now I've heard that white tea is supposedly great for colon cancer. I think I read it from the webmd site but not sure. > > > > > > > > Hi > > > > I have a question regarding green tea. What is the best brand to > > > > buy. I have myself totally confused. Guest guest
I don't know about the health benefits but Celtial Seasons has an herbal white tea that tastes delicious! It does contain some caffiene but the flavor is marvelous.
Guest guest
Two excellent brands of teas! And I heartily agree - that drinking green tea is not something to be lumped into the quack category! Sheila

Hi Jackie, When I was losing weight, I started drinking green tea and I do believe it helped with my weight loss. I still drink it along with herbal teas - 3, 4 5 cups a day. I don't have absolute proof that it helps with bg's, but I believe it does. hugs Eunice

Guest guest
Thanks, Eunice. I thought it is supposed to help with weight loss. I am still trying to control my sugars with diet and am currently on WW. But my sugars have been on a roller coaster ride and I need to get them under control. So I am looking at all of my options. Thanks, Hugs, Jackie ERWachter@... wrote: In a message dated 5/22/2005 12:54:47 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, kerben2003@... writes: I would like to know if anyone uses green tea or green tea capsules? Guest guest
Jackie, I love decaffinated green tea. i drink at least one cup at night. It is an antioxident, suppose to prevent cancer. It hasn't helped me lose weight or lowered my BG. I just like it. marla

Guest guest
Actually all teas are anti-oxidants which is cool. I really like Oolong but I guess it's an acquired taste. Todays Handy Hint If you use loose tea, buy one of those one cup size caffitieres.. no need for a tea strainer then, just let it brew, plunge and pour.... ta da! ttfn > Thanks, Marla. > I haven't tried it yet. I bought some today at Walmart so I think I will try it tomorrow. > hugs, > Jackie >
