Just curious. How much flaxseed oil were you taking? I was taking 1

tablespoon per day for just under a year. Recently, I switched to two per

day.

I had a 3 cm submucsousal fibroid vaginally. It was outpatient

surgery and recovery time was minimal. My bleeding has improved

100%. Not all gyns are qualified to do this type of procedure. If

yours is not perhaps he can refer you to a doctor who is.

Kath: I am a 51 y.o. white woman, peri or pre-menapausal with a history of

severe bleeding and a

complete placentia abruptio with my last cghild. Had fibroids removed last year.

Was symptom free for

one year and six months ago began heavy bleeding again. I have several " new "

fibroids apparantly,

plus a submucosal that has caused me to have exteme bleeding. I went on Lupron

three months ago for

three months, and have not had a period except some pink spotting for one day

mid course of the

Lupron. Lupron has caused me to become hideously labile with my emotions, with a

low , low

depression, hyperactivity and some manic stuff. I have been very physically

aware that this has been

a chemical artifact and so have not been swayed emotionally, Still, it has not

been the pleasantest

of time for me in that regard. I am relieved that my hemmorhaging stopped but am

apprehensive at the

mo because I feel now I was just buying time and that the new doc I had did

not present this

chemical vacation to me as merely a temporary measure. As far as I know she has

no game plan if the

bleeding reoccurs...and from what I've gathered from the other Lupron users

here, that is a distinct

possibility. For that reason, tomorrow, I have chosen to change docs and ask for

the head of the

dept. and from there ask for a IR and a game plan. It has taken me a while to

figure out what to do

but my mind is clear on this. Hope this personal saga helps. cheers and best

wishes. gigi.

Regarding the use of Lupron not stopping periods... - While I was taking Lupron

in preparation of my last myo, I had a period 4 weeks after my first injection.

The nurse began asking me questions, and through our conversation, found that I

had been eating lots of soy based products. As you may know, use of soy

products tend to reverse the effects of menopause. Lupron is a medication that

induces menopause. If your sister was eating lots of soy and soy based products

while taking Lupron, this could have caused a conflict and resulted in her

having periods.

Re: Lupron and still having periods

Lupron does not always cause period to stop. My sister was on

lupron and she got it the entire time....

I've had 4 shots of Lupron. After the first shot, no bleeding. After the

second and third, just a bit of spotting now and then. In the month since

my 4th (and last) shot, I've had spotting nearly every day and have also

had some clotting/flooding, just like my real period. Well, not just like

my real period because those episodes have only lasted a few hours, not

three solid days.

I have avoided soy almost completely in the last 4 months. I like soy

products, but it seemed that they touched off some massive bleeding during

the summer (before the Lupron). I don't know how to explain my experience

other than to say that my fibroids are stronger than the Lupron! When I've

brought this issue up with my nurse or doctor, they've accepted it as normal.

Hi : - Regarding soy and menopause symptoms...

Soy (a.k.a. soybean) is part of the legume family (other legumes are lima beans,

kidney beans, blackeyed peas, etc.). Legumes tend to be higher in protein than

other plant foods, and soybeans are generally considered the powerhouses of

protein in the legume family. Research investigating the potential benefits of

soy protein has focused on cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, and bone

health. As an added boost for soy, recently, the FDA issued a health claim,

concluding that soy may lower both cholesterol levels and the risk of heart

disease.

Menopausal women who participated in soy research studies, experienced a

significant decline in their menopausal symptoms, including declining hot

flashes, mood swings, and sleep difficulties.
