Hi ,

Welcome to the group. I am sorry you had to find us

but I think you will find that these women are really

supportive, sweet, and knowledgeable. I recently

joined and honestly, it has been a blessing. I had so

many emotions, I didn't know if I was " normal " but

come to find out I am (well, as close as I am going to

get!lol)

Anyway, I had my ep Dec 00. Dr. treated me with metho.

inj but before b/w back, it ruptured and I had surgery

to remove my rt tube. I have been waiting to schedule

my hsg (if I am lucky, this month)

I know it can be so hard to sit around and wait but I

am sure it will happen for you and dh soon.

Meanwhile, you now have us to talk or vent anytime.

Also, let me congratulate you on deciding to stop

smoking! I know it is hard to do. (Eps happen for

many different reasons, so try not to feel bad your

that smoking might of had something to do with ep, no

one could ever really say) Just good luck now and hope

to talk to you again.

Welcome

Hi ,

Welcome to the group, although I am sad that you, too, had reason to find

us. I am sorry to hear about your losses. I had an ep in October of 2000.

I am also 28. I hope you find the support here that I have found.

Maggie

Hi!

To all:

I would like to introduce myself to the group. My name

is and I am 28 years old. My first ectopic preg.

was in December of 1999. DH and I were not TTC, but

surprise! I was spotting (having no pain)and I didn't

have a clue why, so I went to the gyn and I tested +.

I then had an HCG and the preg. was confirmed. At

this time, she didn't think it was an ectopic. It was

a Friday, so she told me to come back on Monday for

another HCG. I went back, had the HCG. My Gyn read

the results and said that there was no wayit could be

a normal preg. because my levels were not rising

enough. She said that there a couple of choices for

me to make. I could have a D & C to look for tissue to

rule out an ectopic, or she could go ahead and treat

it like an ectopic and give me a shot of Methotrexate.

After looking at the risks of the D & C, I elected to

assume it was an ectopic and took the shot. It worked

very well, and the preg. was absorbed.

My second ectopic happened in June of 2000.Well, it

was early June, so DH and I probably got pregnant in

May. Anyway, it was a surprise again, because we were

still no actively TTC. This time, I started spotting

suddenly and there was pain in my left side. I called

the doctor and went directly to the office. My reg.

doctor was off on family leave, so I saw another in

the practice. He instantly gave me a preg. test and

it was +. Then he sent me for a transvaginal. They

found the ectopic on my left side, and a cyst on my

right ovary the size of an egg. They again treated it

successfully with methotrexate. A couple months later

at a routine pap, he said, " Well, you don't have any

trouble getting pregnant, it's just in the wrong

place. " He then suggested to me that I could have an

HSG to rule out blockage in my tubes. So, DH and I

elected to have the HSG. I took 4 Advil like they

said to, and it was so painful I thought I would

scream! After, I bled quite a bit and was in a little

shock.

The results of my HSG were normal. No blockages.

After this my regular Gyn. returned to work and looked

at my chart under the other Doc. She said everything

looked good, except that no one had followed up on the

cyst they had found during the 2nd ectopic. She

ordered an ultrasound (normal and transvag.) Nothing

was found. She said the cyst had gone away on its

own.

Now, DH and I have been TTC since January 2001, and

nothing has happened. I quit smoking on New Years Eve

for this purpose and I have done well. I don't know

if the smoking caused the ectopics, but I hope the

damage is reversible. I am also overweight, but I

don't expectany problems because of this.

Hope to hear from some of you.
