Guest guest
Hi, Yes, I would love some information! I've heard of Bard's beer but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm a former Lite drinker so I'm not sure if any gluten-free beers would be that light but I'm interested in trying anything. Thanks! A Olsen wrote: If you want GF beer info email me back. Guest guest
Did you like them? As a former Lite drinker, I've tried Ramapo, New Grist, and a local microbrew and didn't care for any of them. They all seemed to have a " wine " kind of taste to them. Guest guest
Bard's is behind in production because they had a problem with exploding bottles. I haven't tried it either and given the other few that I've tried, I might pass. Woodchuck ciders are GF and seem to satisfy my bottle cravings On Thu, 9 Feb 2006 04:45:21 -0800 (PST), Mills wrote > Hi, > Yes, I would love some information! Guest guest
I have tried Bard's Tale and liked it very much, but I can only speak for myself. To me, it is similar in taste to a homebrewed or microbrewed beer. For those who are only accustomed to a lager or light beer, it will be a very different taste. I haven't had a chance to taste New Grist, yet, but may try a trip to Wisconsin to get some. For everyday bottle (read: portable) drinks, Woodchuck is good, but a little too sweet for my tastes. > > Bard's is behind in production because they had a problem with exploding bottles. Guest guest
I prefer hard ciders... Magners & woodchuck especially. there are some local brews for cider, but they tend to have a watery taste to them. sweeter than beer, but not like wine at all. > > > > > > Can you all tell me what is OK to drink? Guest guest
You can buy New Grist in Ohio too (just south of the Michigan border). I still have 5 of a 6 pack left. Maybe I'll give them another try. When I had the first one each sip tasted a little bit different and I couldn't decide if I liked it or not?!?!? Guest guest
I actually like the New Grist, but you have to know that it's not going to taste the same as Lite....which is fine by me. YUCK!! I liked Bud Light, but being a WI girl, I couldn't ever admit that. Rhiannon > > > > > > Can you all tell me what is OK to drink? Guest guest
Where do you find these beers? I haven't been able to find any and trust me, I've looked. Do you have to special order?Rhiannon wrote: I actually like the New Grist, but you have to know that it's not going to taste the same as Lite....which is fine by me. YUCK!! Guest guest
On the lakefront brewery website they have a list sites from where you can purchase New Grist. My family all still lives in WI, so my sister usually picks it up for me at a co-op in Milwaukee. Otherwise my dad has gotten it at Discount Liquor in Waukesha. If you aren't in WI, I am not sure how many other places is it available. That is the only one I have tried so far, so I can't help with any of the others. Good luck with your search! Guest guest
They both have websites that will give you the retail locations. Guest guest
Rhiannon, what's the cost for the New Grist? When Bard's Tale was available, I ordered a case for $39 from a local specialty-brands liquor store (I'm in NW Indiana). At that price, definitely not for casual consumption. And that was still cheaper than if I'd purchased directly from them. Shipping costs are very high. > > On the lakefront brewery website they have a list sites from where > you can purchase New Grist. Guest guest
I believe it's about $6-$7 a six pack, depending on where you get it from. I don't know about shipping or anything. I just get some when I go home and bring it back with me. My sister usually buys whatever is left at the co-op and brings it to me. On the site they do list places to get their beer, but I am not sure if they all have the New Grist. There are some Illinois and Ohio locations, but I also found the tidbit below on the website just now, which is new since I last visited. Happy beer hunting!! Rhiannon New Grist is now available from Clubs of America by calling: 1-800- 800-9122 (9a.m. to 5p.m. CDT Monday - Friday). If you would like New Grist stocked at your favorite store, contact us by phone at 414-372- 8800 or email at: info@.... If you let us know your location we can also check to see if we have a distributor in your area. > > > > On the lakefront brewery website they have a list sites from where > > you can purchase New Grist.
