Guest guest
Dear , I have suffered from endometriosis for 10 years now and have had numerous laser laps. to remove my cysts and treat my endometriosis deposits. However I have never had a D and C for endometriosis. Endometriosis is where cells usually found in the womb are found in other areas of the pelvic region and 'bleed' during menstruation often causing considerable pain. Chocolate (blood-filled)cysts often form on the ovaries and adhesions can form throughout the pelvis/ tubes etc. Apart from laps. and laser treatment, hormone therapy such as Zoladex can be used to stop menstruation for a while which can prevent the endometriosis occurring during that time. Women who are infertile due to endo. can sometimes get pregnant following the correct surgery and hormone therapy. As I say I have never heard of having a D and C for endo. I obviously don't know how bad you SILs endo is and maybe hers has progressed more than mine but I think I would want to find out the exact reason for having the D and Cs. Hope this helps, a P.S. I have had a daughter since having endo. It did take a couple of surgeries, hormone therapy, a year of trying and two months on clomid but it all worked out in the end. That's why it's so irritating that I have AS - yet one more obstacle to overcome!!
