Guest guest
My hands used to feel like that every morning. I thought it was maybe early onset of arthritis. It magically went away after going GF. -----Original Message----- hi, just wondering if anyone else has this. I am in the process of " glutening " myself for the biopsy after the ttg came back a strong positive. (just want to be sure all is ok and it is JUST celiac... which I will be relieved about in a way) Anyway... I made a delicious potroast (found on allrecipes.com Marie's potroast) and also gluten free. Also ate a lot of regular french bread to soak up the gravy. About 2 hours later I noticed my hands were achy and hurt. This is a symptom that I have been suspect about along with fatigue and big c (my only symptoms). So... I said to dh... maybe my achy hands aren't because of cd (I knew I had made a gf dinner)(usually just achy in the a.m.) and then realized I did eat gluten. So... iyo... the experts out there could that have been from being " glutened " ? Thanks, Sally

Guest guest
It's funny, bc the one thing that actually made me take my son to the doctor was that he started complaining when he'd go on a walk that his legs hurt...now, after being GF, he only complains about going on walks when it's the 2 or 3 of the day! ;-) From: SillyYaks [mailto:SillyYaks ] On Behalf Of lucky3668@...Sent: Wednesday, February 08, 2006 11:36 AMTo: SillyYaks Subject: Re: RE: symptoms Joint pain was one of my only symptoms. Guest guest
Yikes! My ds is always achy too—I just asked him and he says it hasn’t changed since GF, but it’s only been 1 month. Sally, we’re going to doctors to ask about more extensive diagnoses also. I hate the thought of glutening the both of us again, but I might be with you! Might be interesting to see what symptoms return in order to verify their cause. (My son’s symptoms haven’t changed dramatically enough for me to call it a diagnosis yet—I’ve been trying to avoid even a blood test for him, the little needle-phobe.) Laurie lbilyeu@... Guest guest
If it's only been a month, you should give it more time for sure. How old is your son? My son was only 2 1/2 so he didn't have a ton of damage to reverse. Guest guest
Don’t panic just yet.....he probably needs more time to heal. -----Original Message----- Yikes! Guest guest
He’s 13. He’s been achy, fatigued, foggy, insomniac and stomach achy for most of his life. No classic symptoms—he’s very tall and has been pudgy in his life. We see the pediatrician today. I’ll ask if he likes the Enterolab testing option… DS says he doesn’t want to eat gluten again because he believes he is sleeping better. I’m glad he sees a difference. If we don’t ever get a firm diagnosis, he’ll have to depend on how he feels to keep himself GF. Laurie lbilyeu@... Guest guest
No panic! More like boredom, really. Until we both feel fabulous, we do a lot of sitting around resting… Laurie lbilyeu@... Guest guest
My hubby had no GI symptoms-- he was tested because our daughter was diagnosed. His symptoms were some fatigue, headaches, muscle and joint pain. All of his symptoms have improved immensely since going GF. Your symptoms could definitely be related to gluten! > > hi, just wondering if anyone else has this. It was the pain in my hands and the top of my collarbone that alerted a doc to check for CD. I was diagnosed by a pain management doc.we have since found out that other foods also cause the hand pain. this last friday I discovered that eggplant does it to me as well. (so does potato, tomato and soy)Shez
Guest guest
Yesterday my babysitter bought a tub of Tofutti for my children as a treat. When I got home DD was crying that her stomach hurt and was an emotional mess. DS was complaining about knee pain and was aggressive and confrontational. I just couldn't work out what was going on. Then last night DH opened the freezer and saw that the treat had cookies in it. Light bulb moment. Our kids had been glutened. Today has been a nightmare. they are no longer complaining about pain but DD is an emotional wreck and DS is hyper, aggressive and confrontation. I usually have such easy, compliant kids (at least I have had since we went GF.) Anyone have any idea how long I can expect this to continue? Guest guest
Everyone's experiences are so vastly different, I am finding. Here is my story: I am 36, was diagnosed a year ago, after only having "symptoms" for about 6 months, the final 3 of them being severe (vomiting weekly, diarhhea, gas, bloating, etc). After I was diagnosed, I realized that I had probably been sick for about a year, because I had problems with BMs (lets leave it at that). I asked my doctor why I had gone all my life up until now without any problems, and there really isn't a good answer. It is an OPINION, not a fact, that this doctor thought I might have had a trigger set me off, such as stress. I had been under a tremendous amount of stress recently, and also my eating habits had gotten much worse (I was eating gluten items a LOT). I don't really understand this theory myself, and how I could have gone 34 years without any problems. Anyway, that's my story.....like I said, everyone's experience is different. I never had any problems as a child or teen, or really until after I had kids myself. But I am very glad to be diagnosed and healthy again. Sonja Yahoo!
