Terry,

Welcome to the group and let me congratulate you on taking the first

step in getting treatment. Seeing a specialist, such as Dr March is

absolutely the BEST thing you can do for yourself and your

fertility. I wish you the best of luck with the surgery and a

positive outcome. Please continue to read as much as possible and

then when the time comes, I'm sure you will have more questions.

There are so many helpful women here that it is so nice to add more,

though I am very sorry you have AS and need to be here.

Take care,

W

PS Are you doing okay now after the radiation treatment for Graves?

Terry,

Welcome to our group. We do have another Terry so can we call you Terry M?

I'm so sorry for all your losses. I think someone recently mentioned that they had Grave's Disease too.

You are in excellent hands with Dr March. He is one of the best A list doctors we have and you can trust his treatment.

Please remember to let us know how your appt goes with him next month and tell him that you were referred by this group. I want them to know that we appreciate their work in restoring our uterus'

p.s - Please remember to delete the email you are responding to so that those receiving daily digest don't have to scroll to find the next message. You can keep the portion that you are referring to. Also, it takes up valuable space on site which we are limited to.

I am pretty sure I have ashermans syndrome... My current Re calls it

minor Pelvic Adhesions or scarring. My history is that I am 35.5 yrs

old ttc#2 for 2 yrs. 2 years ago, I had 2 m/c back to back(one d & C

and one spontaneous m/c). Knowing that 2 m/c back to back seemed

suspect, I went to an RE in boston for a complete work up. My FSH

came back at 18.5. My HSG came back showing a minor septum. My Re

back then dismissed it being a problem b/c I carried my ds to term...

After another year and one more m/c on a natural cycle which required

my 2nd D & C, I moved onto Donor Eggs in January. Before the Donor

cycle I had a sonosaline which my Re said everything looked perfect.

This was suppose to be the answer to my Prematurely Old Eggs...My

initial beta was high but did not double and after 2 more weeks of my

betas rising, I finally had bleeding. Sadly, it did not ressolve

itself so I had to have my 3rd d & C. Last week after extensive immune

testing which came back negative Thank G-d, I had my HSG which was

suppose to just dot the I's and cross the T's so I could move onto my

frozen embryos. However, it was discovered that I have scaring on the

top right hand corner of my uterus. My re says this is new from the

last D & C, he says he would have seen it in December when he did my

sonosaline...As you all can imagine I am pretty devastated to hear

this news. It is just one more obstacle to overcome. I am scared that

this is going to be the final setback. I am tired depressed and

emotionally drained. I am consumed to try to fix this so I can go on.

I really can use the support of this group to help educate my self.

Although, my Re and another doctor from Yale University(2nd opinion)

is telling me that this scaring is minor and should not effect my

chances to conceive with my frozen embryos, I do not know who to

believe anymore. Any advise would be greatly appreciated...

Ps my Re who performed the last two D & C's says he can do the

hysteroscopy next month to correct...When I asked him if he normally

does these procedures he sounded offended and said he does them

regularly... How do I access your list of A doctors to make sure if

he is on this list....

Good luck to everyone... I wish you all the very best in this

journey..

HI Jen-

Who did you see for a first opinion- and where are you?

I havce to say I saw Dr Palter when he was at Yale- and he was wonderful- but before him- I saw 2 Dr's at Yale- and they all told me not to TTC- one because my DD had heqart defects and my second DD was stillborn- and another because AS was severe-. Until I found Dr Palter I had given up hope- and another well known RE told me to have a hysterectomy.

I have a completely fixed and functional uterus thanks to Dr Palter- ask the ladies here- AS can be treated sucessfully in many cases- but can be made worse by incompetent Dr['s- and the incompetent Dr's won't tell you they're not competent. There are A-list Dr's in NY and Mass- if you went to Yale you must be close- so think about it...or maybe Dr palter knows someone at Yale now. My thoughts and prayers are with you :)

Jen T,

Welcome here, though I am sorry you have to be a member due to AS. I

know it can be exhausting and depressing because it seems it is

always one thing after another. In you case, I feel strongly that

you would be best by seeing another doctor from our A list if

possible just to get an " official " expert opinion. Many of the women

in this group have had excellent and experienced surgeons, but trying

to cut away adhesions and scar tissue inside the uterus, is one of

the most difficult types of hysteroscopic surgeries there is. I have

told this by two different A list doctors and they perform this type

of surgery regularly. I know its hard to feel like you are offending

your current doc, but you have to face it, he did give you the

scarring, whether it was preventable or not. I strongly advise you

to see the A list under the files or database section from the

homepage. There is a specialist in Boston (Dr Issacson) and there

are several in the NY area (Dr Palter and Dr man).

Please know that if you scarring is mild and if it is only in a small

area of the uterus, you have excellent chances of recovering from the

AS struggle. My uterus was totally scarred shut, cervix and

everything, and I had no monthly periods for almost 4 years. I

finally had sugery with Dr Palter and am now 7 weeks pregnant. I

wish you the best of luck.

Welcome, Jackie. I'm just like you in terms of being 40 pounds heavy, although

it wasn't caused by meds in my case. I've started saying I'm working on eating

when I'm hungry and stopping when I'm full and eating what my body needs instead

of saying I'm trying to lose weight, since that never seemed to work for me.

IE since 2/11

Welcome Jackie! I'm with - focusing on who much I 'weigh' never helped me

either. I've not only 'gained' a lot of peace - especially with food - since

I've taken up IE, but I've come to find a more healthy way of living and loving

of the body I have - then, now and in the future too. Please do ask any

questions you have about not dieting as a means to becoming more comfortable in

and with your body - at ANY 'size' - and if possible read some previous posts

here to get an idea about what IE has done for others as well as offers to you.

BEST wishes, Katcha

Hi, Jackie. I hope you can learn the concepts of Intuitive Eating, it's a wonderful way to go. :-) I agree with the others, if you will go over some of the previous posts and understand that listening to your body is the best way to handle our eating habits, you can be among those who are really happy in their endeavors.
