Guest guest
I would wait for the saliva testing to do the switch. The results of that will also tell you how much Armoru you can start with or if you need to introduce it slowly. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Can I introduce it slowly since I don't have any thyroid? Also, what is the probability my extreme anxiety is due to adrenal fatigue or TSH too low (0.04). > > I would wait for the saliva testing to do the switch. Guest guest
You can swap ou tthe Armour for your T4 meds once you get on some adrneal support. So though it is slow you are still getting thyroid hormones. TSH only tells you what the pituitary is doing. To know your thyroid status you would have to have thyroid hormones tested. They are includedin the saliva testing through Canary Club. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I guess I am really wondering the cause of the intense anxiety. Could bad adrenals really cause it? I guess I had always seen 0.04 as being listed as hyperthyroid so wouldn't relate to the anxiety since it is pituitary? > > You can swap ou tthe Armour for your T4 meds once you get on some > adrneal support. Guest guest
>> I guess I had always seen 0.04 as being listed as hyperthyroid so wouldn't relate to the anxiety since it is pituitary?<< TSH by itself is the WORST test for thyroid three is. You can be hypopituitary from being hypothyroid. That lowers ALL the pituitary hormones including TSH. The ONLY tests thta are valid for hypothyroidism is THYROID hormone testing. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
My other thyroid test results were Free T4 1.6 (range 0.8-1.8) Free T3 335 (230-420). I guess my basic question is in your opinion is the anxiety coming from adrenals or thyroid issues or both? I'm doing the saliva testing tomorrow and will post as soon as get them back. > > >> I guess I had always seen 0.04 > as being listed as hyperthyroid so wouldn't relate to the anxiety > since it is pituitary?<< > > TSH by itself is the WORST test for thyroid three is. Guest guest
Yes,bad adrenals can give you bad anxiety, but so can can being hyper or hypo. A really low TSH CAN mean you are hyper but you can't tell unless you test the free t3 and t4 as Val said. If the pituitary isn't working, you could have low TSH and still by HYPO. Guest guest
So what do you do for high cortisol? Guest guest
For high cortisol you try to find the cause. I am VERY limited in this area as I can;t afford hardly any testing and have not got a decent doctor at all. So far I tried Phosphatidyl Serine, whihc I could not take it made me very ill, then I have tried block and replace with HC which seems to give me the best results but it is a forever thing as the minute I taper down on HC my cortisol rises too high again. I have removed everything stressful form my life I possibly can but there is always some stress which I must deal with and my health has become the worst one! I eat a very clean diet and hope for the best adn just work to control the symptoms of high cortilsl that appear when i give myself a break from highish doses of HC. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
, is the HC you take Cortef or is there another kind? So HC is good for low cortisol and high cortisol, huh? Guest guest
Relora works very well in my experience. Dr Rind told me to take it for insomnia (why, I have NO idea b/c he KNEW I had low cortisol, I guess he thought I was going high at night although the saliva test didn't show that). At any rate, the Relora worked SO well I was ill the next day with low cortisol! So I never took it again. Kathleen
Guest guest
Kathleen, Ironic you should mention that. My tests showed high early morning cortisol with a comment of hypoadrenia overnight, so I took Relora before bed 2 days ago and slept well. Last night I was up at 3 am and could not get back to sleep. So, I am wondering if it made me too low for the rest of the time (my morning and early afternoons are depressed)? I think I need to hold off on it too and deal with the glycemia or whatever is causing me to wake at night. I know when I took Relora more regularly in 2005 I lost a lot of weight and seemed to have more energy but my adrenals were probably at a different phase then. I have since packed on about 30 lbs but did lose about 10 again in the last two months. Cheri Re: Val et al...Start Armour or wait for Adrenal Saliva Tests Relora works very well in my experience.
