Guest guest Posted November 7, 2003 Report Share Posted November 7, 2003 Rita, so glad all the tests came out ok. the breast scare is really something, isn't it. a few years ago i had to have a breast biopsy and was terrified........and the biopsy proceedure was so awful, painful, that i've told my GYN...NEVER AGAIN. speaking of breasts.........LOL do all our beautiful women here get their annual mammograms and pap? well, maybe I'll be the official " breast nag " . ladies, please get your mammograms once a year.....and the pap, too. we don't need any added worries and stress to what we are already dealing with. maggie Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I went to the breast cancer clinic associated with a teaching hospital here and had a stereotactic biopsy done. Thank God, it was benign. I'm telling you this because I too had heard that the biopsy would be awfully painful. I honestly don't know where these painful tests were done, but I didn't feel a thing. I had a shot of lidocaine in my breast and felt some pressure, but that was it. Please don't put off a biopsy because of fear of pain. It doesn't have to be painful if you go to the right place where they do these all the time. A high Free T4 can either mean that there is enough hormone in the blood or it can mean that his body is having a difficult time converting the T4 to T3 -- T3 is what the body actually uses! I can't remember if your husband has Hashimoto's ... has he had the tests for thyroid antibodies done? Very important tests. If he does have antibodies -- then he will most likely benefit by taking a high enough dosage of med to suppress his TSH below 1. How is he feeling so far?
