I am new here, and going to start tomorrow, I will need support so I thought I would find it on this loop. I plan on sausage and eggs for breakfast, can I have half and half in my coffee? I have to have my coffee (decaf). Thanks and appreciate any suggestions for breakfast, lunch and supper plus snacks that have made it easier for you.

Welcome, . Where do you live? (The reason I ask is because we've

recently had on the list a woman from Texas, I believe, who found an

organization to help her pay for her surgery.)

Hello my name is and I am 24 I am 5'1 and I weigh 225-230. I

can't afford the surgery (ms). My step-mother had it done in May and

she looks great and feels great. I decided to join this group in

hope that maybe one day I will be able to join the many of you that

have gone through with this procedure.

- Welcome. So glad to have you with us. I take it you don't have

insurance? Did you mean that you have MS? Are you on disability? Do you have

Medicaid? I know there is a 2 year wait before you get it after being disabled.

We have a gal here who found a group to pay for her surgery. Maybe you could

research something like that. She is Terri and lives in Texas. Don't give up

hope. Your turn can come, too. Take care.

No I don't have any health insurace and am curretnly going to

college in search of getting a job that has a goo benefits package.

I am either wanting to be a nusrse or a medical assistant. I don't

have ms and I am sorry if I gave anyone that impression. I thought I

mis-spelled the word surgery. I am willing to wait my turn but

hopefully I can support some of you through your procedure.

,

my name is Terri Sas. I am the one from Texas that Jeanne told you

about that has no insurance either. I am going through the Texas

Rehabilitation Commission. Their main goal is to get those who are

unable to work back to work. Due to my weight I can not stand up for

more than about 10 minutes on my own without having back spasms, leg

weakness, knee problems, and so on. So I was told to go to them and

see if they could help. So far so good. I was approved by my

counselor and by her supervisor... now just waiting on one more

approval from the medical examiner then it is a go. So I dont know

yet if I will get it done. Not until this last person says yes or no.

My counselor seems to think it will go through. She already set me up

on a " plan " .. that is basically me signing a statement that once I am

able to work i will go back to work... I had no problem at all with

signing that. I own my own business right now, and it is booming. But

would like to be able to get out and push my business so that is what

my goal is when i can work. I am hoping to find out something this

week on the verdict of my status. I have been doing a bunch of

praying and crying. This is so stressful just waiting. Well... the

reason for me telling you all this is that for what I have heard..

every state has their own rehabilitation commission. You might want

to talk to them and see what they say. They might be able to help

you. I thought people were crazy that someone would help like that,

and i gave it a shot anyway... thank God I did. This might go through

for me and if it does then I will have a chance at a second life. A

life to do so much better than i did the first time. Good luck. I

hope all goes well with you.

OK, . Thanks for the clarification. Usually if I'm unsure of a spelling I

used, I might put a (sp?) after it. LOL! I'm sure you will be a great member

of our list. Keep studying hard and your day will come.

Chad - I didn't need any tests performed until it was time for the pre-op

testing. I didn't even see Dr. Chua until after my approval was all set. So,

you'll have to let me know where you're at. I assume you've had to have a psych

consult and stuff before hand? I would think your next move would be to follow

up and make sure that the info. gets to Tammy Lynn, and then you have to play

the waiting game for your approval. It could take a couple of months. By the

way, there is a support group meeting tonight - 6:00 at the same place where the

info. meetings are held. I don't think I will be attending as my back is

bothering me and I don't feel well. It's 3 a.m. right now and I'm not sleeping

either. I would say give Tammy Lynn a call to see where you're at and if

there's anything else you need to do to keep the ball rolling. Let me know if

there's anything else I can do.
