Hey, Beverly, somehow I don't think we'd qualify <G>.... Hmmmm. You

might check to see if the hospital has one. I haven't heard of anything

in Pensacola, but my resources are a little limited. Hmmm. You might

could check with some of the psyc profs at UWF and see if they know of

anything. They probalby have their ears to the ground re; the local

resources.

I just received a letter from insurance requesting psychological support

system, both pre- and post-op, will my membership with your group and

Obesityhelp.com group qualify? If not any suggestions, my surgeon

doesn't have a support group. They also want me to enroll in some type

of eating isorder therapy program with promise to continue after surgery

- would my follow up with surgeon qualify?

Thanks ahead of time for all your help!

Bev - These are good things that they are asking you about even though a pain in

the butt for getting your approval. Are there any support groups in your area?

I think they will want you to have a real live support group, even though we

know that online support groups are just as good. It sounds to me like they

want you to have a therapist that deals in eating disorders. Maybe you can get

a referral from your surgeon or PCP? This will be so helpful to you as you deal

with the issues of why you eat, and the mind still wanting to overeat even after

the pouch is full. I have been battling that over the last week or so myself.

I recommend counseling to lots of people, and I may be going back to it again,

too. Take care.

I've posted on the WLS site for anyone in this area interested in

starting a group and I will write a letter regarding my online support

groups, which are available 24/7, better than once a month. Just have to

find therapist. I just hope that after jumping through all these hoops

they approve me. It is so exciting hearing everyones weight loss

stories, yet can also make me feel a little down not knowing if I'll get

approval or not.
