Guest guest
In the beginning i didn't have to many problems with pitt, but as you grow and learn the have a lot of problems even though they do research there.there is so much for you to learn. how old is he? dr.o is ok but you should only see him for the first year or so .dr.kurland is ok also, they both work with you and don't treat you as if you are stupid. the first time you question anything that they do you should go to another cf dr. and see what they think. pitt dr.always say you have to be aggressive now and get better because it does affect them, it might be 5 years down the road but it will affect them. also have you looked into vitamins and herbs. Guest guest
patrick is almost 9 months old. we haven't looked into herbs or vitamins etc. we are still getting over the shock of having a kid with cf. it really brought our world to a standstill. i have two older boys ,9 and 11, from a previous marriage and i never thought this would happen to us. kathy and i are both very troublesome with the doctors and the hospital. we ask plenty of questions and i have been especially a bulldog with the doc's and the hospital on his clinic visits and his two inpatient stays. the only problem we have had so far is that the one doctor has this thing about reglan. he does have severe acid reflux and is taking zantac, previcid, and errythmycin (sp.) and they kept wanting him to take reglan. he had some minor reactions to it and we didnt want him on it. then i got a call from my wife that he was being taken to the hospital by ambulance because they thought he was having seizures. he was stiff as a board and looked like he was going to die. was pretty scary. after a shot of benydryl he was fine ten minutes later. that is the last time he took reglan. we don't care what the docs say. thanks for your concern. keep in touch... doug stanley
