Guest guest
Hi , I,too, have terible problems sleeping. Before i got sick i could sleep anywhere, anytime..even had problems dozing while driving long distances. It didn't seem abnormal since I worked long hours and excercised regularly. When I got sick (SD) one of the first things I noticed was that I was having problems sleeping. At first I thought it was mainly due to pain but more recently I have not had as much pain at night and I stll have trouble sleeping. I can be totally physically exhausted (which I usually am at night)and just lie there awake. Even if I do fall asleep I usually wake up after one to two hours and can't fall back to sleep. I have also noticed that I NEVER dose when driving any more. I think the sleep disturbation is just another manifestation of my disease. My doctor has prescribed Rhovane which I take (1/2 - 1 tablet)about 15 minutes before going to bed. It is very mild and he claims it tends to promote stage 4 sleep (which is good). As long as I take it before midnight I have never had any hangover effects. >From: SC <sasc@...> >APsupport <rheumaticonelist> >Subject: rheumatic Sleep stuff >Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2000 18:34:41 -0600 > >I still have problems with sleeping. Guest guest
Hi, . I have tried a number of things to help me sleep. I also do the thing where I lie down tired, but don't go to sleep. I started the generic for soma a couple of years ago, and it is what helps me most. It is a muscle relaxant, but it's major benefit for me is drowsiness, which helps my sleep a lot. Two years ago, a months supply of soma (generic) only cost $19. Unfortunately, they have increased the price twice since then, and it now costs me about $45. There other muscle relaxants, but I have had the best luck with soma. Guest guest
, I forgot to include that soma doesn't leave me feeling hung-over, like lots of other things which are supposed to help sleep do. Guest guest
-- Sorry, it is a prescription muscle relaxant. I stayed away from such things for a long time, but I have used it for two years without any obvious undesirable effects. I just wouldn't use it if I didn't want to sleep! Guest guest
, Yes, I have that same experience when I take Naproxen 750mg SA at supper time or before bed. I seem to sleep for longer periods of time. The NSAID reducing the inflammation must be the reason?? I also notice that I am usually stiffer in the morning than when I don't take it. Like you say, not moving tends to stiffen one up. I am looking into getting my adrenals tested. Sleep disorder is one of the symptoms of adrenal stress. Am not sure if it will help, but right now any help I can get will be good. Carol/Piney rheumatic Sleep stuff > From: SC <sasc@...> > > I still have problems with sleeping. Guest guest
, I have that too and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I go to bed and wake up in a few hours and am wide awake and just can't get back to sleep. I get it in spells too and find sometimes if I read a book and come downstairs and watch tv for awhile I fall asleep. The nice thing tho is that even if I miss a few hours of sleep I am not draggy or tired the next day. Bev > > I still have problems with sleeping. I wonder if any of you have > similar. Guest guest
Hi Gloria I buy my essential oils from a chemist (drug store?) or anywhere that sells good quality aromatherapy oils. You only need a few drops on the pillow ie. 4 or 5. so it last ages.
