Herrington Rod fusion now resulting in Sacroiliitis

I'm 42 and have Sacroiliitis and lower back degeneration because 13inches of my

spine is fused because of Scoliosis. My spinal fusion and herringtion rod was

put in when I was 15yr. I've had my left Sacroiliac joint fused 3 years ago.

This helped for 2

years but now the pain is back and also the right side is so much worse as well.

I am taking Gabapentin (also called Neurotin) which helps with the Sacroiliac

joint pain but not the other pain assoiciated with my facet joints and bulging

discs in my lower

back. One of those disc was herniated to the point that I was unable to walk or

sit a year ago. I still am unable to sit up, but I can walk. I am always needing

to recline. Very awkward. I am wondering if anyone else suffers from a similar

experience.I

would love to be in contact with you.

Stopped wetting the bed but started back

My 9yr. old daughter stopped wetting the bed when she turned 7yrs. old. However,

26 days ago she started wetting the bed again. She has wet the bed every night

for the past 26 nights. I don't understand why this has started again. I thought

it was all

behind us. She is a very bright girl. She went from first grade to third. She is

now in the fifth grade and has never made a B on her report card.( I thought

maybe the stress of maintaining all A's might be a problem. She tells me no,

that if anything

school is to easy.) I need help understanding just what is happening with her

bed wetting. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dilated eye

I am diabetic. Three times this summer I had an occurance where my left eye

dilated. Could it be caused from a high blood sugar or fatigue? I don't know.

Has anyone had this occur to them?

Weight loss in women with down's syndrome

I am interested in finding anyone having this experience and wanting to share

information. I have a 24 y/o daughter with DS and is about 200 lbs. She needs

to lose weight and I am resolved in getting her about 20 to 30 lbs. lighter.

She is active and

loves to play sports. I just need a few hints or words of encouragement without

the guilt or " how could you have done that to her " deal. I am so tired of that!

Aloha, Tammy

P.S. You may email me. I look forward to any positive help anyone can give me.

I was just told by my OBGYN that I have polycystic Ovarian Snydrome. I'm not

Flu Shots

Hi. I'm 45 suffer from fibromyalgia and my doctor wanted me to get my flu shot.

Since I suffer from fibro it is like having the flu unless you have the right

medicine. My question is do you take the shot and ever get a reaction? If so how

long did it take

to come on? I have coworkers who said the took the shot and were in bed with the

flu. Thanks for your help.

Pernicious Anemia

I have been taking B-12 shots for about 6 months when diagnosed with Pernicious

Anemia. First I took a shot each day for 2 weeks, then 1 shot a week for 4

weeks, and now 1 shot a month. I really felt like my old self about the third

week of taking 1

shot a week. Now that I only get 1 shot a month, I am starting to feel tired

again. The doctor says all I need is 1,000 mcg. per month the rest of my life,

but my red blood counts are still below the low normal range. I am going to get

a second

opinion, but my doctor says I should feel fine. I do take thyroid medicine each

month because 5 years ago they diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. I need some

help and suggestions. I feel like I should be getting more injectible B-12 each

month....but

the doctor insists it won't help me and won't let me try it.

Upper back pain & numbness in right arm?

I have had severe upper back pain for about a year and a half. No doctor can

seem to pin point the cause. I was recently discharged out of the Army because

of it and still no answers. Most recently It began hurting even more and this

time my right arm

started going numb and hurting. My finger tips were tingling. I rarely sleep at

night and I don't know what to do anymore. Can anyone help?

Scoliosis

My best response is that yes it can change as you get older and yes it will get

worst if you have a major accident like fall on a icey walk area or get tossed

off a horse. My chiropractor has been adjusting my back for about a year now and

I 've had

scoliosis a lot longer it just never bothered me until I fell directly on the

bad part of my back.

Sciatica

I have never been diagnosed with this but more than a few people told me what it

is by describing symptoms. I was told that a lot of new moms get it after

having an epidural during child birth. It doesnt appear often but when it does

it brings me to

tears and nothng relieves it. It started 13 yrs ago right after i had my son. It

feels if i move my hip around it will go back in joint but no relief no matter

what i do, sit stand walk bend stretch? Anyone know of any exercises or

something i can do to

temp relieve it at least till i get home. It usually hits me when I have been

standing on hard or cement ground for any length of time

Foot hurts but its not bruised or swollen

My foot started hurting like that but in a very specific area about a size of a

quarter on the side of my heel. The doctor took an xray and told me it ws bone

spurs. He gave me custom inserts for my shoes, rather than go for an injection

right away. I

havent had a problem since. But i wouldnt be caught dead without the inserts. I

think they just took the weight of that part of my foot. Good Luck

Sarcoidosis

I was diagnosed with sarc after losing my spleen earlier this year to what the

drs thought was lymphoma. I also have some lung and liver invlovement ( slighly

raised liver enzymes and swollen lymph nodes and some lung scarring, but

fortunately, I remain

largely asymptomatic and well. If you want to find out more about the causes of

sarcoidosis, go to the website www.sarcInfo.com and you will get more

information about disease than anywhere else. I have not been able to find a dr

willing to try the

protocol on the site, as drs only seem to know about prednisone for autoimmune

diseases, but I am trying to find a willing and enlightend physician. In the

iterim, I am under the care of a homeopathic dr and am doing very well on a diet

and many

supplements to balance the immune system. Sarcoidosis can go into long or short

remissions, but once the bacteria is in your body, it is likely there for life,

and you will need regular medical checkups always.

I wish everyone here well and continue questioning your drs and forcing them to

learn more about a disease many of them know very little about.
