Guest guest
Okay so we know that mercury " suppresses " adrenal function. I am wondering how it does this. Does it do it directly or does it do it because of the poisoning of the hypothalamus and pituitary thus messing up the hormonal functions? Thanks,
Guest guest
Mercury tends to accumulate in the adrenals, hypothalmus, and pituitary where it would interfere with enzymes and all sorts of essential proteins. The damage would lead to reduced function and then messing up of the hormone regulation of the HPA axis. Hope this helps jJ > > Okay so we know that mercury " suppresses " adrenal function. Guest guest
Thanks , That's just what I was wondering. I didn't know if the mercury accumulated directly in the adrenal glands themselves. If I remember correctly from the studies where amalgam with radioactive mercury was implanted in sheep and monkeys and then traced to see where it goes, it went to all three of the HPA axis. I think that in my case mercury is in all three. My adrenals must be poisoned because I get such extreme adrenal symptoms with DMSA and DMPS and they would only be removing mercury from the body. My hypothalmus must be a problem because my TSH was always low before thyroid hormone (that's one indication of hypothalmus dysfunction, according to what I have read). And my pituitary can't be working too well because my morning ACTH test doesn't go very high. The whole adrenal thing is very difficult to figure out. All I know for sure is that I have to keep chelating, slowly. J > >
