Guest guest
Great news, Colleen! I'll see is my group follows up with some specific action as quickly. Maybe you'll find out in Sacramento where you surgery will be. Pat > Were the heck is everyone today? > > >
Guest guest
Colleen....I am 4 months out today. The class they are sending you to is where you see a nutritionist and behavior psy. counselor. If you have documented any weight loss you have done these past years you should bring those papers with you so you can attach it to the paperwork the nutritionist gives you. Once you turn those in, the paperwork is sent to a girl in member services who in turns sends this info to your PCP and then off to SSF for approval for surgery. This can take sometime since SSF gets all the requests. I started my process on April 7, 2003 and finally had surgery on 12-30-03 at Pacific Bariatrics. I understand that the wait may be a little shorter because of sending people to the bay area instead of San Diego. When you get approved by SSF they will send you a letter informing you and telling you about their next step. At the moment I don't remember how long it took but it was like 4 to 6 weeks before I heard anything. Hope this helps some.
