Guest guest
I wonder if any of you in the Southern rural mountainous areas remember quite a long time back when the government decided to ban Sassafrass tea? It is an old tradition in the mountains to dig the sassafras roots and chop them up fine and use as a purgative tea in the Spring to perk you up and cleanse your body. Actually its what was originally used in root beer and has a root beer taste. Very good stuff. Not many use it anymore. Im not sure what the reason for banning it was, maybe they thought it was toxic in large doses but I dont think anyone ever has even gotton sick on it. Anyway there was quite a lot in the media around here and I guess they finally decided to give up on banning it.
