New to group... lots of ???

Hi all! My name is and I live in the Sacramento area. I'm just wondering

if there's

anybody in this group that can tell me what's involved with getting Kaiser to

approve

the WLS? I understand about the BMI and contributing health conditions stuff

but I

had a doctor tell me that Kaiser makes you go through all their weightloss

programs

first before you can start the process for the surgery. Is that true? Also

would I have

to travel to the Bay Area to have the surgery?

I'm scheduled to begin the Healthy Ways class next week. Has anybody done that

and

if so what do you think about it? I'm a little afraid it will be just more of

what I already

know. Eat better, move more, think positive blah, blah, blah.
