Guest guest
Dear Shar, Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have certainly been thru the mill, over and over again. You are such an amazing person to have survived soooooo much, and still want to help the rest of us deal with this challenging disease. I know we all appreciate having you here, so very very much! I have also recently read Kay Pullen's story with sarcoid, and she has a pacemaker and defibrillator(I think), as she arrested a couple of times. I know it will take a few days to get the holter read, so I probably won't hear from them until late next week. I have decided to stop my mini dose of my beta blocker Metoprolol 12.5 mg (which I was on for fast heart rates). My pulse was actually in the high 50's in bed last night. My chest still feels soooooo strange today with the internittent hard beats and fluttering, however, I am not dizzy or anything else, so I am just trying to chill out. I was also off steroids from 1992 until 2002, and thought I would forever be in remission. I am thankful for the steroid free years, as I was at least able to pursue my Nursing career and obtain good lifetime disability benefits during those years. I am also facing a spinal tap in November, to see if I still have the inflammatory cells from the meningitis. I feel that I do, and the methotrexate may be keeping it from getting worse, but hasn't cured it by any means. I have to call Dr. Baughman after the spinal tap, or my cardiologist may be calling him before then. Only God knows for sure! Thanks for your input, and take good care of yourself!
