(HOLMES, MARK T.) <rheumaticonelist> Subject: rheumatic Zithromax Date: Sun, 8 Aug 1999 22:20:53 -0400 From: MHOLMES@... (HOLMES, MARK T.) If there is anyone out there taking Zithromax, I would appreciate it if you would contact me. I would like to ask you some questions about dosages. Thanks, Mark _______________________ Hello Mark, said it all, so I won't repeat her advice. Dr. Franco recommends taking Acidophilus 4 hours BEFORE Zithromax to minimize any diarrhea. Any such problem should vanish after the first 4 weeks. Easier to take in the afternoon or evening. Go easy on the coffee on Zithromax days. The maximum dosage is Zithromax, 250 mg, 5 capsules per week. The typical schedule could be Zithromax, 500 mg, all at once, on Mondays and Fridays, with the possible addition of Zithromax, 250 mg, on Wednesday evening, at the same time as the other antibiotic, Zithromax being taken in combination with either Minocin or doxycycline, 100 mg, every 12 hours, 5 days per week, every day except Mondays and Fridays. I'm doing very well on this protocol which I recommend for Ankylosing Spondylitis and every other Spondyloarthropathy. It can be used also for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Hope this helps.
