Guest guest
Chanda, In my experience, it's hard for folks to say no to a patient who is present. I remember a case where a patient showed up unexpectedly at a hearing in front of some insurance people who were going to deny her a bone marrow transplant. Somehow she got into the hearing (this was unheard of). While it caused a bit of an uproar, she was calm and pleasant and I think her presence there influenced them to approve the procedure. If you think you'll become upset, you might consider not going. Otherwise, it might be in your favor to go. Perhaps you could bring a calm and level-headed person with you to be your " ground wire " in case the electricity gets too hot. Guest guest
I have heard that they don't give you a decision right there on the spot, that you will be notified by mail. Can anyone verify if that is correct? tballmom1229 wrote: Hi everyone, I received my letter today from Kaiser stating the appeals committee will hear my case on Monday, May 10th. The letter states I may come in person to represent myself and my case. I am very nervous about this whole situation and I would prefer to not represent myself; I feel my grievance/appeal letter was very strong and it should speak sufficiently on my behalf. Does anybody think this will hurt my chances of getting an approval if I don't show to present my case? Thank you, Chanda
