Its Me Again

I wrote so much that It wouldn't let me go any farther so Here I am

again. I wanted to say that the number one reason for wanting WLS

apart from losing weight is to be able to have childern. I have tried

to have a baby but to know avail. And was told by a Dr. that because

of my weight it has caused my to be unfertile. Also I was at one time

taking pills the 1st 10 days of each month in order to have a period.

However since I started working out and losing weight on my own my

period has faithfully come on by itself without any meds since

September 2003. Thank You Lord!!!. I have been doing some research

on women who have had the problem that I have as far as having

children and what I found out is that many of the women who had wls

became so fertile after the surgery that the were able to have

children. Some women were pregnant months after surgery. Now this is

not advisable Dr. Braggs says that you should wait at least 2yrs. Im

35yrs old so 2yrs is not bad. However I was so encourage by the

results of those women that it inspired me to go on and have the

surgery. Now I am aware that it is not place in stone that I will be

able to have children after surgery but I believe that my chances are

better if I do have WLS. Well thats enough for now.

Well Aziza, don't give up, even if you are 35. My son was born when I

was 42! I will say it's a lot easier to deal with a small child when one

isn't also carrying around all that extra weight. Hey, since losing more

than 120 pounds, I can keep up with his little hiney at the SF Zoo, and

he's three-and-a-half. He even tires out before I do!

Best of luck to you! If you want to contact me off-list, feel free to

write me at eleanor@.... Do put " Richmond " in the subject

line, so I know it isn't spam. I get TONS of that!

Take care!

And I was 39 when I had my third son and was 46 when I had my first last and only daughter.

They have all their body parts where they 'should' be (I pray that is not offensive to anyone) and (unfortunately at times) their lungs and vocal cords work just fine when they need to holler. Actually, the princess is right now late for preschool and the prince is getting his career day stuff ready for his school. Gotta run....

Hi Aziza! Thanks for sharing all that you have - it was almost like

reading my own biography! I found out I was diabetic when I went to

Kaiser for infertility and also was given the pills to take (they make

you feel so nasty!!!) to have a period. That has been one of the many

benefits of this surgery - fertility. I'm still pre-op but have heard

so many stories about the increase in fertility after surgery. Good

luck with everything - I know there are a lot of other women out there

like us!!!
