Guest guest
I can't remember whether this has been discussed before, or whether anyone knows for sure....that if you get a metal taste in your mouth (with supposedly no amalgam left), whether this is normal during chelation. In other words, it's not necessarily a sign that some amalgam has been left behind by mistake? Does anyone else have this symptom? I get it frequently, both during and after rounds. Guest guest
Hi, if you have mercury in your body etc, you will most likely taste metal while chelating or post chelation. That is normal. However, it's possible that some amalgam might be in your teeth, but the only way to really find this out is to have a panoramic xray done to check for it. You can find someone who does this and it could give you extra assurance if nothing shows up, or if something does, you will have to get them out obviously. If you can make some kind of complaint (if any amalgam is discovered) to the dentist who did the replacements, I'd do so. Not sure how much sway we have though. They seem to be able to do anything and get away with it, so it seems to me. My metallic tastes i get now coudl be due to the replacement materials in my teeth that can sometimes contain metals. That too can be an issue. Replacement materials can have their own problems so I've discovered and are not always safe or better, most are better than amalgam, but if your immune system has to cope with another toxin that is not much better, having that PLUS mercury to cope with is like a double edged sword. This is how it's been for me. >
Guest guest
Thanks, the dentist I saw seemed quite conscientious and thorough but I suppose there's still a chance she left some behind. I'm convincing myself it's to do with mercury being pulled from my tissues, as I dont fancy having an x-ray done but I'll think about it as I get this symptom a lot. Guest guest
Hi, I'm sure she did it thoroughly! I thought my dentists didn't and they obviously did becaues a panormaric xray showed no traces of amalgam under my composites. It does put the mind more at test in that area though. But I would imagine your metal taste is due to pulling mercury out with chelation, as you said. I get this as well, but my concern is trace metals in my replacement materials! I feel like I'm trying to chelate one poison and probably pulling another one out more. Hoping to have this dealt with by a dentist, but my health is so bad, he won't do the job until I'm improved... how on earth does one do that? I'm on a healthy diet and everything! > > Thanks, the dentist I saw seemed quite conscientious and thorough but > I suppose there's still a chance she left some behind.
