Guest guest
About Doctors' records They are required by law to keep all of their pateints records for a period of time ( my husband the less and less parttime chiropractor and more and more coach and everything sponsor) -- I know this because half the space in our storage barn is the files from his 3 previous practices. You do have, however, an absolute right to a COPY of all of your records. However, one doctor cannot give you a copy of a letter or report sent by another doctor... you have to do that legwork yourself. Also, they can charge you for the copies if you say they are for you. If you are getting the records to show Dr Baughman, Dr. Stern, etc, they don't charge. Usually they will let you carry them, but I wouldn't take any chances, so alert your docs in time for the paperwork to be faxed or mailed. Good news about Baughman. He'll copy the pages he wants to keep and then he'll let you take all the records home. He's such a great guy. REgards,
