Guest guest
Hi , Kim has pretty already answered your questions. Nonetheless .. . . my 2 cents. Dr. Baggs did my surgery as an open simply because I was so large. At my initial consultation, my BMI was about 70. Yikes!!! (My current BMI is 55.9 - still high, but so much better.) Dr. Baggs told me that he prefers not to do lap surgery on anyone with a BMI over 55. At first, I was disappointed - but now I really don't care. I was mostly afraid of complications with the healing of a larger incision. However, I have been fortunate enough to have absolutely no problems. About recovery from surgery . . . I guess it depends on what you consider recovered. My first couple of weeks out of surgery are pretty much a blur - just rested a lot, walked as much as possible and so on. At 3 weeks, I started feeling much better, but I did have some pains that concerned me. It wasn't that the pains were real bad, but they hadn't been there previously, so I thought I might have done something wrong. Turns out that they were just the result of some of nerves healing and sorta just waking back up. All the best, Kay open RNY 12/1/03 wrote: > Hi Kay,I have a question for you....if you don't > mind..How long did it take for you to recover from your > surgery? Guest guest
I got an email yeaterday saying that there was a support group that was meeting at the South Sacramento Kaiser facility last night at 7:00 p.m. The support group was for both pre and post-op members. I drove up there and there was no one there nor did anyone there know about the meeting. Does anyone have any information on this support group? Thanks,
Guest guest
, I have never gone, but I understand it is in the Dan B. Building (to the far left of the main hospital entrance). Not sure where.
