Guest guest
Hi, I'm beginning to try these out, but feel I need a better idea of how to use them. I've got Allergy Research TG 100: http://nutrimedical.com/products.jhtml?method=view & product.id=714 and Thorne Adrenal Cortex: http://www.illnessisoptional.com/ace/product.asp?ProdID=4170 I've tried half a capsule per day of each split into 3 doses with meals. I do feel more energy and I've lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks, so good things are happening. However, I'm waking up about an hour early and can't get back to sleep. Should I be taking my doses at different times? Is this too much? Thanks, W. P.S. Is there a list that would be best to join to learn more? Also, here are the thyroid tests results I have (I realize that TK recommends additional tests, but I don't have them): Free T4: 1.19 rr .61-1.76 Free T3: 3.0 rr 2.3-4.2 TSH: 2.997 rr .350-5.

If not, maybe drop the thyroid and see how you are with just the adrenal supp? > things are happening. However, I'm waking up about an hour early and > can't get back to sleep. Hm. More reason to try reduced dose or drop one and see what's happening. > Should I be taking my doses at different times? Is this too much? I don't know enough - maybe someone else has more experience with glandulars. I seem to have the idea that glandulars can jump start things if the gland is really exhausted, but not necessarily good long term. Not sure where I got that, though. > Thanks, > > W. > > P.S. Is there a list that would be best to join to learn more? I have joined a few, but they are all a bit overwhelming to me :-) NaturalThyroidHormones and thyroid group are fairly active and you'll get some good feedback, and useful info in the files/links. > Also, here are the thyroid tests results I have (I realize that TK > recommends additional tests, but I don't have them): > > Free T4: 1.19 rr .61-1.76 > Free T3: 3.0 rr 2.3-4.2 > TSH: 2.997 rr .350-5.5 > Definitely looks hypo. --

Just to be clear, I thought the new range upper bound was 3, so my TSH would be just under that. Right? Thanks,

I did 1/2 cap of the adrenal cortex per day split into 3 doses for 2 weeks before adding the 1/2 cap of thyroid glandulars split into 3 doses. I've been on the combo for about 2 weeks. I don't feel bad from losing 10 lbs so quickly. I could stand to lose 30 or 40 more. But, you are right that slow and sure is better. > > Free T4: 1.19 rr .61-1.76 > > Free T3: 3.0 rr 2.3-4.2 > > TSH: 2.997 rr .350-5.5 > > Definitely looks hypo. Why do you say that? I know the range for TSH is supposed to have an upper bound of 3.0, which mine was barely under. I know that having free T3 in the upper half or third of range is optimal. Mine certainly is not there. Is that what you meant? Thanks, W.

My opinion is it's a bit unwise to lose weight quickly - greater chance of losing muscle rather than fat. Losing fat takes time. You have to burn it. A couple pounds per week sounds a lot more sensible to me. I like TK's idea of omitting the last dose. I think taking thyroid hormone too late can cause problems, and I wouldn't be surprised if glandulars do it, too. > > > Free T4: 1.19 rr .61-1.76 > > > Free T3: 3.0 rr 2.3-4.2 > > > TSH: 2.997 rr .350-5.5 > > > > Definitely looks hypo. > > Why do you say that? He has said the upper 1/4 of the range is ideal (although perhaps he was referring more to kids?). He has also commented something about the statistical unlikelihood of TSH being in the 2.x range with normal thyroid function. Even my MD has commented on my thyroid results when I had TSH of 2.x - as in " we need to watch your thyroid " . Of course, now my TSH has shifted low again. From what I understand, symptoms are more meaningful than test results. Tests are more for tracking changes over time and for optimizing treatment. I am fairly new to thyroid issues (or at least to believing I have one), so mine is a relatively naive view. --

That said if you are having thyroid problems TSH whether it is low or high doesn't really mean much and it needs to be supplemented. TSH only means you are producing Thyroid stimulating Hormone which may or may not be doing what it is supposed to. Without the other tests you can't figure anything out. Right? > > Thanks, > > >
Guest guest
Hi! - I highly recommend the new yahoogroups list called NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS The problem with adrenal glandulars it that the companies can't label the amount of cortisol or other adrenal hormones. Many of them also contain epinephrines which we don't need more of ans which can increase anxiety and such. You can get all the excellent help that has made the NaturalThyroidHormones list the one that has helped many of us save our selves as well as good insight about treating adrenals. Most of us feel better and our symptoms go away when we treat with natural thyroid hormone and suppress our TSH (a pituitary hormone) to close to zero. How do you feel? Do you have symptoms? You might want to take a look at www.drrind.com That website has a very helpful chart for charting and reading basal temperatures. I personally found the 4 x in one day saliva cortisol profile (aka the Adrenal Stress Index or ASI) extremely helpful. These can be ordered (also part of a package that is a decent bargain at 141.00 for joining the " club " ) at www.CanaryClub.org HTH, .... > > Hi, > > I'm beginning to try these out, but feel I need a better idea of how > to use them. > > I've got Allergy Research TG 100: > > http://nutrimedical.com/products.jhtml?method=view & product.id=714 > > and Thorne Adrenal Cortex: > > http://www.illnessisoptional.com/ace/product.asp?ProdID=4170 > > I've tried half a capsule per day of each split into 3 doses with > meals.
