Guest guest
Does anyone have any advice on getting a quicker date for the gallbladder ultrasound?? After 2 + months of what Marina calls "miscommunication" I have been approved for PB (I was originally scheduled for Richmond but requested PB in August instead. Marina said it will take 6 weeks for the Authorization number and reapproval.. everytime I checked she kept having me down for SSF instead of PB.. so finally yesterday I was given permission to get the gallbladder ultrasound done) I have a tentitive date of 12/18 (my bday!) but want to get it sooner.. I live in Sacramento and am willing to travel if need be... Any suggestions???? Thanks, Angie
Guest guest
Angie, I went into Kaiser in South Sacramento with my order slip, and told them this was a "pre-op" ultrasound. I told them that having this test was the only thing holding up my surgery (which at the time was true). They gave me an appointment within a week. Tell them you're willing to go anytime, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends -- they gave me 8:00 on a Sunday, and I hear they do them until 9:00 PM or something like that. Also ask them to put you on a cancellation list, so if anyone cancels they can give you the next available appointment. Laurie W. Guest guest
Angie, Depending on how well you get along with your PCP, they might be able to get you a quicker ultrasound date. I know that when I scheduled my ultrasound, it was scheduled within 2 weeks, but my PCP said that she could probably get me one quicker if I wanted. I didn't think that I had an outrageous wait time for that, so I turned her down. If you're comfortable asking you PCP for some help, the worst they can say is " No " .
