Guest guest
I went to my pcp today for an 8 month check up, do blood work etc. I told him I had this mass at the end of my scar about the size of a golf ball. I thought it was just scar tissue. It doesnt hurt, its just there. Anyway he poked around on it and said he thinks it may be a hernia or a cyst !!!! He advised seeing Dr Fisher, but felt it could wait until I see him on May 26th. Well now Im scared !!!! I called the Bariatric Department at Richmond and only got their answering machine. I want to see him ASAP if only for peace of mind. Has anyone else had a lump or mass like this??? I really think its a hernia...it pokes out more if I lean slightly back. Its about 1/2 inch to one inch above the bottom of my scar. Its hard and round and is noticable when I stand. Im so worried !!!! Now I want it out !!!! Since Im due to have my pannectomy this summer anyway do you think they might just go ahead and do them both together..NOW !! Please respond...Im so scared. Guest guest
Chances are it is probably a hernia.... The main thing to worry about is your ability to have a bowel movement. If that is normal it can wait if you havent had a " BM " in several days you should go to the ER. If it is a " Non- Strangulated " hernia they have time to repair it. If it a cyst. it can usually be drained in the Dr.'s office. I am NOT a doctor I am a paramedic If you are still worried call the Kaiser advice nurse.
