Guest guest
I am just blown away by all of the members of this group! it's fricking incredible! Way to go, everyone! I am new here, having posted just once or twice. Last night, my husband and I went to Kaiser for the nutrition " class " . I thought it was a class, but it turns out to be a meeting with the nutritionist. She gave me the heads up on how to go thru this process. I told her I was doing well with the slimfast thing as I cannot afford to buy the nutri options, or whatever it is called that they sell for the supervised program. I weighed on my way out and I have lost about 10 pounds since I began this slimfast thing. It is enough to keep me going forward. I am down to 285.5 and that surprised me! I have several medical problems besides my weight. I fell onto my back onto a concrete floor 4 years and have had four surgeries since, including 2 neck surgeries. The first one being a cervical diskectomy of C5-6 C6-7, and the second one being necessary to remove the 40 mm titanium plate that had slipped and was pressing on the nerves. I have to try to get my neck doctor to write me another Rx for my gym so workcomp has to pay for it so I can go swimming. The nutritionist told me that the three components for me to qualify for the surgery is a system of support and that means I can go back to OA for the meetings and get them signed off. I can meet with the nutritionist once a week and keep a food log, and then the third thing is to get some exercise, hence the reason for swimming. I love to swim and it is the easiest for me, with both my weight and my fibromyalgia. I am glad I found this group and I am grateful for all of the information that is available here. Thanks to all of you! Michele
