Betty,

Thanks for links and the beautiful lyrics!

Interesting article...not sure I agree with Rosedale's statement " I

think you should be using fat as your primary energy source " , but he

makes some good points about high carb diets. Seems to be similar to

the Atkins school I guess. Speaking of which, that was very sad to

hear of Dr. Atkin's recent death from slipping on the ice in front of

his clinic. Another reminder of life's uncertainty and strange

twists.

Of course, I might also point out that using natural therapies to

lower LDL & triglicerides, raise HDL, is one of alt meds strong

points. I have personally been able to alter cholesteol by 60 points

using a combination of Red Yeast Rice and Guggul...also Policosanol

is supposed to be very effective for some people & has even been

shown to work in clinical trials, but I haven't tested it myself ;o)

Diet alone did not work for me - my cholesterol naturally runs 210-

215 no matter what I do, but can be knocked to around 150 w/

supplements.

Not a diabetic, normally avoid high sugar except at conferences! The

problem is not with sweets as such I think, but high glycemic foods

(rice, potatos, bread etc) are almost impossible to avoid if you've

cut meat from the diet (what is left lol?!)

Best Wishes & Hugs back to you friend!
