Guest guest
> I've been reading all the e-mails from the group and have a question. I notice that you CAN:T drink coffee, chocolate, dairy, soft drinks, etc. Is there anything else we can drink besides water all the time??? Donna, I drink a lot of herbal teas myself. There are many that taste great with no sweeteners, once you get accustomed to that. In fact, I find a lot of them taste worse with sugar or honey, to my palate. Some of my favorites are: red raspberry leaf, lemon balm, red clover, alfalfa, mints (add some mint to the more " green " tasting ones for flavor) also, some of the blends available in the store already mixed are good. Ginger tea is easily made by simmering a few slices in water for 3 minutes or so. Sometimes just a glass of water (or a mug of hot water) with a squeeze of lemon is nice, to break upo the monotony of just plain water. Broths or bullions if you are not vegan can be nice in the winter when you crave something warm. There are also grain beverages available in the health food stores. Fruit juices are usually considered ok too, as long as you don't overdo it (lots of sugar, but not as bad as the refined kind). Then there is rice milk and soy milk. V-8 or other vegetable juices are great, and you can make some great combinations of your own with a juicer. In the summer, we have fruit shakes, sweetened with frozen whole strawberries and spun in the blender. Try a trip to the local health food store to find some more ideas. I hope some of this brainstorming suits your tastes. But don't neglect the water, either. The more water I can drink, the better I generally feel. Guest guest
Bigelow Green Tea w/ a touch of lemon (the lemon is part of the tea) is a favorite of mine for what it's worth. Must drink 6 of these a day (gotta get some caffeine!). Mark Re: rheumatic What does everyone drink? > From: " Liz G. " <pioneer@...> > > > Donna, I drink a lot of herbal teas myself. Guest guest
Donna, I drink tea and soft drinks in moderation. I did cut way back on tea drinking because I was drinking way too much of it. I haven't changed my diet drastically and am getting better on AP. I can eat pretty much what I like without drastic consequences. I have the odd Tim Horton's coffee. Who could resist! Guest guest
Hi Donna! Geoff Crenshaw here. We not only get water, we get: Iced water; Cold water; Tap water; Warm water; and Hot water Actually, there are also any number of fresh juices (highly recommended), both fruit and vegetable. But remember - they need to be pure. Canned juices carry not only a mixture of other items, like corn syrup, but also metals from minor leaching, etc. Though these normally would not be an issue for people, in our cases in general (notice I said, in general) they can be ill-advised. That is why you will see the occasional topic of juicing, juice recipes, etc. Some also make use of green tea for its medicinal qualities. Guest guest
My mother-in-law from Wales always drank a cup of very warm water as soon as she got up. Her mother had always done it too. It was supposedly good for your digestion. Sometimes she put some lemon in it. craves Chocolate too. I think it is something in your diet you are missing. When I go to town he'll more than likely get me to bring him back some. I don't care much for chocolate but prefer salty/sweet and sour tastes. Funny, isn't it! Guest guest
Celestial Seasonings and Bigelow have some excellent teas, some of which don't require sweeteners even for someone with a sweet tooth. My favorite is by Good Earth Teas. It is their herbal tea and is naturally sweetened. It is delicious hot or cold or room temperature. And of course I just love plain water. I know that it is doing great things for my body and that gets me to drink my daily allowance ... 8 to 16 glasses per day. -- Kiana Rossi bornfree@... Guest guest
water is best, but there are tons of wonderful teas, each one tastes different. I like to add ginger to my tea, especially green tea which is full of anti-oxidants
Guest guest
Who feels like drinking after they downed the required 8 glasses of water, LOL I like Good Earth teas, too Their Green Tea Blend has lemon grass and is very flavorful. I think Mark remarked a while back that most green tea taste much like dishwater. I agree (except I havn't really tried dishwater) Good Earth has now a Green Tea with Jasmine that also tastes good. Cheers, Ute

Guest guest
I drink a tea made up by my sister (i think she copied it from someone) Its very tasty and requires no sugar. I allways feel better after drinking it, less achy etc. It has about 7 or 8 ingredients in it and i think some of them have anti-inflammatory properties. And other than that i drink filtered water, about half a gallon or more a day.
