Guest guest
Hi Jackie. Sorry to hear about all you've been going through. I too have been real sick several times in the past month. First time in several years which tells me my immune system is awakening. As to your mother, I would definately check out the lymephotos.com site and think about putting her on salt/c. I'm not sure about Parkinsons but I have heard of others diagnosed with MS who got well on Salt/C. It turned out to be lymes and NOT MS. Really might be worth checking into. You could always post your story on the group site (lymestrategies ) and see what they think. Best wishes. Carol B --------------------------------- Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Jackie, Really nice to see you back! I wondered what happened to you. I'm sorry for your losses and the other stresses you have been dealing with. It's wonderful that you're able to help out your Mom! A big stressor though, so glad you have other help. We brought my mom home from the nursing home on Nov. 1st, and she is doing much better at home. We hired lots of help, but I'm still quite involved helping out, taking her to appointments, etc. (She has Parkinson's Disease.) We started giving her epsom salt baths, and they have helped her mobility/flexibility greatly. She even asks for them. So it has been wonderful to see the improvements. > > On the not so bright side, we have had 3 funerals in less than 2 months, and actually another uncle just passed away, but that one is far away, so won't be attending that one. And it seems to be holding true. I have gotten sick off and on this fall/winter, and it seems to be viruses. It seems to happen after a round of chelation. I've had to back off on taking so many supplements, because they seem to be bothering me to take so many, and I'm experimenting with enzymes and probiotics for my digestion, which I have upset sometimes by taking too much oil of oregano for the viral issues. I remember Andy saying that gut bugs and everything else can go wild about 6 months after removal, and he seems to be right. I'm sorry for your losses and the other stresses you have been dealing with. It's wonderful that you're able to help out your Mom! A big stressor though, so glad you have other help. ----Thanks . You guys are like a second family, the one that really understands, so I couldn't stay away forever!------Jackie T> Have you continued chelating through all these events in your life? Hope it is going well! ----I have managed to squeeze in 3 rounds of chelation since November, lasting between 4 to 6 days long each time. I feel better on a round, so it was almost a necessity sometimes. But I also seem prone to getting sick, usually seems viral, after a round of chelation, so I am experimenting more with anti-virals and high doses of Vit C. It seems to help, but when I take too much, it seems to mess with my digestion/stomach/etc. I think maybe I'm killing off too much stuff or maybe the good stuff also, because I become very gassy when I take too much oil of oregano and Vit C. They talk alot about viral issues on the A-M site, and I think its a problem for me also. But I know I have to keep chelatinng whenever I can and feel up to it.-------Jackie t. Let us know about your supplement issues - maybe we can help track down what's causing what. ------I haven't had time to focus on it right now. I tried a different brand of digestive enzyme, and it seems I may only need to take 1 per meal instead of 2. I usually take most of my supplements after a meal, and maybe it was too much at once, or maybe I have had enough of something and don't need to take it anymore? Or maybe I threw off my digestive system with all the oil of oregano? I had to switch to buffered Vit C awhile ago, because the ascorbic acid form started to bother my stomach. Or maybe all the recent stress played a factor? Who knows. I'm starting to wonder if my digestion/absorption is getting better and I don't need or I get more out of my food and supplements now than I used to. Like lately I have been craving lettuce/salads. I think I may have to do what I have heard them do on the A-M site sometimes, and that is stop all or most supplements, and reintroduce them one at a time, to try to figure out which ones I still need. Not sure when I'll get to that though! Sorry to ramble on about this!--------Jackie T. -- > > Hi everybody! > > You probably all thought I fell off the face of the earth, but no such luck, I've just been extremely busy the last 2 months, and surprised that the stress of it all hasn't killed me yet. I felt absolutely horrible and couldn't wait to start them again. You might consider stopping half of them for awhile - if you feel better then add back one at a time until you find the culprit. If you feel worse, switch to the other half that you omitted. You get the idea. Of course, we're all different so maybe stopping all will be fine for you. which ones I still need. Guest guest
I've heard oil of oregano mentioned for candida. Is it possible you're having a die off reaction of candida instead of killing off the beneficial stuff? carol B --------------------------------- Yahoo! DSL Something to write home about. Guest guest
> Jackie----Yes I had a hair test, and my Ca/P ratio is low, .616, and I believe that is the one that points to needing enzymes. I seem to need them and haven't had a problem until recently, so I am suspecting it is this new brand that doesn't agree with me as well or that I only need to take one instead of two, like I was used to doing with other brands. I also tried a digestive aide supplement with betaine HCL in it, and that seemed to upset me also. So I'm thinking I really only need the enzymes and not the HCL, unless that was because of the brand or what else was in it. TK--- HCL needs to be added slowly in small increments to avoid stomach upset for many people. The fact that did is a sign you have low stomach acid actually need it. It is said if you have low stomach acid and take enzymes the enzymes can eat at the stomach lining aslo causing upset. > > I usually take most of my supplements after a meal, and maybe it was > too much at once, TK--- Supplement should be taken preferably with meals especially HCL and enzymes. > > S> I'm finding it better to take them right in the middle of the > meal. TK--- Right Maybe this is superstitious behavior, but I just feel like > if I take them at the beginning they are rumbling around on the > bottom of my stomach, and if I take them at the end, they are > rolling around on top. TK--- This is correct and it can cause upset. Guest guest
My understanding of HCL has always been that you take it till it burns. Then you back down one and that is how much you need. If you take one and get burning then you probably don't need it. I had a stool test that showed I haave an alkaline stomache. I've taken as much as 4 HCL without noticing any thing. Guest guest
Hi Jackie, If I may chime in here, Oil of Oregano is used a lot in some candida detox formulations, so I don't believe it kills off the good bacteria. I did a candida detox with Fungal Defense which has Oregano in it plus other good stuff. My doc did not have me follow the protocol on the bottle (2 week detox), but 3 month detox at a lower dosage than on the bottle. I forget now the protocol, but if you want it I can look back in my records that I keep. Your symptoms are probably from the candida die off which is good if you can tollerate that. V Most of the time I only need it for a couple of days or so, but I have had a sinus/throat/ear thing that wants to linger. I seem to keep it at bay with the oregano, but I made my stomach feel rather sick by taking too much one day. I also notice that I get very gassy after taking too much of it, so I think its killing lots of stuff, and maybe the good stuff also, so I am taking probiotics too. Lots of trial and error with this self-medicating! > ----------------------------- > >

Carol B ---------------------------------------- Yes, that is what my DO told me too. He gave me a few as a sample last summer, they were Metagenics brand. Since I live far away from him, I ordered a Gastric Aid from VRP that has betaine HCL, but other stuff also. So I don't know if this is something that is very brand sensitive, and maybe I'll have to get the Metagenics one and try that again. I took one of the Gastric Aid's today DURING lunch, no enzymes, and everything seems to be fine----no burning, no belching, nothing. So I'll just keep experimenting! What brand of stomach acid do others take? Or did/does the brand matter for you? Jackie t. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars. Guest guest
HI Jackie. I've tried so many brands over the years I don't even remember what they were. I have yet to find either an HCL or Enzyme that has made a difference in my digestion. Boy have I had problems this week (another story) but I think I'm having a nasty herx from the salt/c. If so, that is actually a good thing. Carol B --------------------------------- Yahoo! DSL Something to write home about. Does oregano oil kill both - or just the bad stuff? --
